Powerful, inexpensive notation and MIDI scoring

Progression is extremely easy to use. It provides what may be the only guitar-focused entry point to music notation and is just as useful for pianists and drummers (and bassists of course). Its ease allowed me to notate an entire song in about 1/4 of the time it took to do the same in other notation based software. Flexible functionality is available for pull-offs, hammer-ons, and controlling dynamics. Progression's sampled audio is superb. The guitars, basses, drums and pianos are all spot-on for creating backup tracks from notation. Also, MIDI note entry provides real-time or step entry with dynamics. The fretboard note entry is just plain cool. Overall excellent buy. I wish I'd bought it sooner.

Needs Improvement

I can't really use this software because I notate grace notes and can't add a slide or hammer to the next note. I contacted tech support and they said that I was correct and the software doesn't do that. I have much better results with Guitar Pro 6-

Nice tool, but needs some improvement.

Overall, I'm glad I have this software, but I'm a little disappointed that, as for playback, the software cannot play any note lower than D...So much for some of my drop C# and Drop C tunings.
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I could never get the vocal line to play which was very frustrating, but as a guitar tool this program performs its intended tasks reasonably well. Perhaps the next version or some patches will address some of my issues.
