I have just seen Elaine C Smith in the play I Dreamed a Dream in Newcastle. She was fabulous! I met her there and spent a very short time in her company, but enough time to get a feeling for who she is. She's so easy to talk to! So charismatic, kind, funny. Bought the book and am finding the same qualities in her writing that I found in person. A very real book about a very real life. Funny, sad - real! Get the book. You'll love it!

Everything you want to know about Elaine C Smith in her Fantastic autobiography. She tells all about her childhood and explains how step by step she worked her way up into showbusiness. It's a brilliant read and I found it hard to put down. Throughout the book Elaine's sense of humour shines through.
