Ideal. Gives you background information, helps with the terminology you may not know, highlights all important points of the book, shows both points of view-critical and it has praise. It really helps you see all of the bits that are of huge significance and are often overlooked and the examiners love those. So it is a must have. BTW, I quite enjoyed reading it so even if you are not sitting an exam you may want to read it just to explore the skills of analyzing of Mice and Men not just on the surface.
