In a straight-forward approach with his contagious enthusiasm and lots of real life examples, Anthony Robbins's "Notes from a Friend: A Quick and Simple Guide to Taking Control of Your Life" shows his readers that we can change our life literally in a matter of moments, by tapping into the power that's inside each of us right now.

What if "unleash the power within us" is what we need to be successful? It sounds too simple, but many of us including myself, have no idea how powerful we truly are. This book effectively showed us that we can shape our destiny by shifting focus on solutions, instead of problems. Having a clear vision of what we want, with a sense of flexibility in pursuing our goals, and continuing to take massive, positive, constructive actions, we can empower and enrich our lives and others' lives around us in all aspects!

A concept from this book particularly caught my eyes; "the past doesn't matter. Whatever hasn't worked in the past has nothing to do with what you'll do today. What you do right now is what will shape your destiny." It reminded me of my favorite authors; Ariel and Shya Kane and their books Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment and Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: A Book About Instantaneous Transformation. The Kanes presented the idea of "Living in the moments", showing "the current moment is all we have and living in the moment is all it takes to have our life transformed." It is so freeing to be able to let go of all the "I should have done this" and know that what happened in the past is irrelevant to now and now is all we have! We have absolutely everything we need right now to create our lives.

These three authors are magical. I highly recommend them to anyone that wants to have a magical life and to discover his and her brilliance!

If only I could convey the excitement I feel about this book to anyone reading this review. It is AN ABSOLUTE MUST....ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE GOING DOWNHILL!!!! I had this book on my bookshelf for a year with the intention of seeing what all the fuss is about with Anthony Robbins but it was never a suitable time.......

Well................recently having gone through major upheavals, desperately with my finances, work/career, raising baby twins with the recent abandonment of father, blah blah blah and so on......I finally picked this book up, only a few weeks ago, off my bookshelf and voilla, cram-packed with utter no-nonsense positivity, practical solutions, straight to the point experiences and motivational awe-inspiring factual stories. So vibrant was this book that not only did i fly off my sofa with excitement no more than every page and a half, but it induced much lengthy phone conversations about its content as well as a constant and consistent renewed thought process to my life.

Transferable! The positivity from this book is transferable and as i relayed it to others, so has it been transferred to them. They've began to make changes and i sure as hell have done so too. My problems have not lessened but my perception has completely changed. I stopped seeking to focus on my problems but now on solutions with enthusiasm. To add, i further that by putting action each day to those potential solutions and I enjoy where my life is going now. Things are seriously happening in my life and around me.

Its a small book, readable in only a couple of hours.

This book is an extremely easy read and acts as a good taster to some of Tony's main philosophies. Not only is it an interesting read, it will challenge the way you go about your daily life and help you to make positive changes. A book that we could all benefit from reading!

If you don't have the time or inclination to read some or all of Tony's stuff, then this is a great introduction. He encapsulates some of his ideas and philosophies as if he is talking face-to-face with you, and shows a genuine interest in you as the reader, making you think in bite-sized chunks

I love Tony Robbins, but Notes from a Friend is essentially a distilled version of his others works. If you have read Tony Robbins before then don't bother with this title, just read the first couple of paragraphs of each chapter.

If you are new to Tony Robbins then this would actually be a good entry to getting to know him.

From feelings of sadness, upset, loneliness and lost. Comes a book helping you to break the patterns that cause you to create those feelings in the beginning.
I truly learned a lot from this book. I learned to harness my power and to apply this great knowledge in areas of my life to fulfill my dreams.
Although this is a small introduction to some of tony's larger books! It certainly is great start and I would take upon this book as a starter.

This is more than a book. It's like having Tony speaking to you personally.

I borrowed this book from a colleague at work. I have developed a plan and put it onto a single page. I regularly review it and make changes where necessary. It keeps me motiviated and focused on what I want out of life. I prefer books like these over large, longer reads - mainly because I can only read books like these for an hour at a time. Definitely recommended to anyone who is a little lost or wants some real steps to change their life.
