Product Description

Product Description

This beautiful and moving poem, by an unknown author, was left by a soldier killed in Ulster 'to all my loved ones'. Six years later, on Remembrance Sunday 1995, it was read by his father on the BBC TV programme 'Bookworm', provoking a deluge of requests from viewers for copies of the poem. This special edition, sensitively illustrated with delicate drawings by Paul Saunders, is intended as a lasting keepsake for those mourning a loved one. Its message of comfort, hope and renewal, which has already brought consolation to many thousands, sets it beside Canon Henry Scott Holland's famous 'Death is Nothing at All' (also in this series, illustrated by Paul Saunders) and Christina Rossetti's 'Remember Me When I Am Gone Away' as one of the great inspirational poems for those suffering bereavement and loss.

About the Author

The Author of this poem remains a mystery, although several names have been put forward, ranging from J.T Wiggins, an Englishman who emigrated to the United States at the end of the nineteenth century, to an Englishwoman named Mary Fry and an American woman, Marianne Reinhart.

I have read this on many occasions and on several occasions been able to send these words to friends who have been bereaved. the words convey what I would like to say to my family / friends when I die. they have given me peace on many occasions.

The words offer so much hope to those who have been parted from loved ones.

I always have a copy of this book by my bed. It is only a small book but so uplifting and a source of great comfort when someone dies. For one those times in life when you just don't know what to say, give this book.

Having lost both of my parents, I felt a little alone. I have a daughter and son -in -law and two beautiful grand daughters, but sadly they live a good distance away.I was given a little card when my Father passed and the words on it were so meaningful. It was the verse.Do not stand at my grave and weep.I sometimes used to get the card out and read it.When I saw this book, I thought what a lovely little treasure. The Illustrations are very uplifting. It is food for the soul.Being a spiritual person I find this book a little piece of calm in times of sadness. The thought of losing someone who is very dear to you causes sadness, but hopefully the words and pictures in this book will help you to see that although your loved ones are no longer in the physical world they are never really far away from you.I hope this little book will be of great comfort to you in your time of loss.
