it feels like "your" book,

This review is from: The Not Knowing (Paperback)
I discovered it thank to a review by Nude magazine (check it out).
I felt like I was very familiar with the writer in a sense that there is no distance from the reader (the kind of book you think "I could have written it if I were that good in writing ..."). She knows the subject and the style is truly good also when she deals with everyday life. Not a kitchen sink noir, but a contemporary prose with a twist of murder.

A masterpiece!,
By Susie "Susie" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Not Knowing (Paperback)
I have never had a reaction to any book as intense as I did after reading THE NOT KNOWING. If you're a fan of psychologically driven suspense novels, this is the ultimate. The story is about a young journalist and her two partners, they recently teamed up to start their own magazine. The magazine's focus is movies and music. The person who recommended the book said she was 'gobsmacked' and for the first 2/3 of the book it didn't feel like anything dreadful could possibly happen and I couldn't imagine why she felt that way. By the time I finished reading it, I felt as if someone had grabbed me by my hair, and dragged and threw me across the room. Unsworth makes you feel as though you are the one being victimized. Bottom line, Cathi Unsworth is brilliant! |
