Product Description

BAFTA Winning comedians LEE MACK and TIM VINE star alongside SALLY BRETTON (The Office, Green Wing) and KATY WIX (Torchwood, Outnumbered) in the hilarious fifth series of the hit Royal Television Society and Rose d’Or award-winning BBC sitcom NOT GOING OUT.

Series Five follows Lee as he gets himself into all sorts of scrapes and sticky situations in his eagerness to please and impress the object of his affections, Lucy (SALLY BRETTON). We see Lee turn into a rocker when he joins his best mate Tim’s (TIM VINE) band, cheered on by Tim’s ditzy girlfriend Daisy (KATY WIX), take on the role of carer for his scrounging father (BOBBY BALL, Cannon & Ball) injure himself training for a Fun Run, and prove his manliness by camping in a dark spooky forest. But will a drunken experiment with Lucy show once and for all that love really is in the air or will it just lead to more mayhem and mishaps…

5.0 out of 5 stars Still A Laugh Out Loud Comedy 22 May 2012
By Ragged Tiger TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
When I heard Not Going Out was coming back for a fifth series,I wondered if it would still maintain the high standards set by the previous four series, after all Lee Mack had set the bar pretty high. But I need not have worried because this series is just as funny, and still crammed full of some of the best writing your going to find in any sitcom. The sheer number of funny lines, and their almost relentless pace,is the trademark of Not Going Out,and of Lee Macks writing.Add to this a cast who now work incredibly well together, know how to set up a joke and deliver it,and youve got all you need for great show.I would also say Lee Mack is a very generous writer, because the number of killer lines given to the brilliant Katy Wix as the brain dead Daisy,is unbelievable. If you doubt me watch the episode where they decide to go camping and end up stuck in the car, theres just one after another.

I know that we all find different things funny, what makes one person laugh will leave another stony faced.I dont think Michael McIntyre has ever once come close to making me smile, let alone laugh, while Ross Noble has me in stitches. So I dont imagine everyone is going to agree with my review, but in my oppinion the series is just as good as the previous four, and it made me laugh out loud, time and again. And at the end of the day, thats what a comedy programme is supposed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars a laugh in these troubled times 20 May 2012
Format:DVD
I recently watched them all on bbc as am sure many people did. Lee Mack and Tim Vine and co having me roaring with laughter every friday ( which is rare for me ). From dealing with a hooker to going camping it was one of the better seasons. My only gripe would be the last episode. Although it did make me laugh a lot. I did find the hangover idea to be a bit old now.

All that being said I will def be getting the dvd soon. I do hope this time there's more extra stuff. Will post back soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Painful to watch 4 Jun 2012
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Yes painful to watch - my jaw was aching so much this product should contain a Government Health Warning. Lee Mack and Tim Vine are a great double act aided and abetted by Bobby Ball who really should be on more. Coupled to that is the deadpan performance of Geoffrey Whitehead (a brilliant replacement for Timothy West) and you have an excellant team. Glad to know a further series is in the pipeline.
