Terrific characterisation-Pip Granger has a gift! I knew and loved these characters in two chapters. Rosie is an especially amazing character, precocious but likeable. What kept me turning the pages was the desire to find out what Rosie would say or do next. This little girl is narrating an adult story with rather adult overtones, yet she remains completely in character as a seven-year-old child and never sounds a bit stilted. My only complaint is that this book is too short. Please tell me there's a sequel!
