This compact little dictionary is a great reference book when studying or learning Norwegian. It is very characteristic of the Langenscheidt series, easy to use with the blue headwords, accurate and very easy to use. It is a pity that it is so small though!

Pocket dictionary with information for travelers

This pocket dictionary really will fit in your pocket! It has a flexible plastic cover which should wipe off easily if need be. It also has blue headwords. It appears to be as comprehensive as one would expect for this size. It includes both American and British usage (the American usage is indicated by Am). The introduction and guide to pronunciation are in both languages. There are also 32 pages at the back with information for travelers (in both English and Norwegian): basic (travel) phrases, abbreviations, a mini-grammar with irregular verbs, numerals, how to tell time, and metric conversions including a thermometer showing both Fahrenheit and Centrigrade/Celcius.

Useful for travelling, but not meant for in-depth studying of Norwegian

This pocket-sized dictionary contains a surprising amount of information and entries, considering it is no bigger than one's hand (and I am a rather modest-sized person myself). Travellers to Norway should find most of the words they need to get by, but anyone who is going for a more thorough study of the Norwegian language will soon realize that this dictionary simply will not cut it. I reckon that this is a good dictionary, especially with regards to pronunciation. At such a bargain price, it is a must-have for anyone who is beginning to learn Norwegian or who just needs a basic reference book that is easy to carry around.

Pocket-sized Norwegian dictionary!

I wasn't expecting this to be pocket-size (I didn't look at the dimensions on the listing), but it's great! The cover is soft plastic so it can handle being tossed in a bag. It's very easy to read with the words in blue bold print, and the translation/pronunciations in black. I can read the words fine, but they might be a little small for someone with bad eyesight.
Includes pronunciation, and gender on the Norwegian nouns (n. m. f.) when you are going English>Norwegian and Norwegian>English.
Great deal for $8!!
