Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Norton AntiVirus 2007 blocks viruses and spyware with advanced protection. It helps protect your entire computer by preventing viruses, spyware and other security risks from harming your system. It's always working in the background so you can surf the Internet, read the news, play games, and download software or music, knowing you are being protected. And when you exchange files via email or instant messaging (IM), Norton AntiVirus scans and cleans all attachments, whether they're compressed or not, preventing you from receiving viruses on your computer, or spreading them to others.

Even if your computer is already infected, Norton AntiVirus is the ideal solution. It is designed to detect and remove viruses, spyware, and other security risks during installation. With set-it and forget-it functionality, it checks for updates continuously and automatically blocks new and emerging threats from getting on your system. You can also set automatic scans to detect and remove hidden viruses or spyware. In addition to protection updates, Norton AntiVirus provides new product features as available throughout your service subscription. So to keep your computer protected from viruses and spyware, choose Norton AntiVirus 2007.

Do You Feel Lucky? 18 Jun 2007
    By Thrud Fan VINE™ VOICE
Like others I have had problems with this software turning itself off and when I clicked on the 'Fix This' button it downloaded 16Mb of extra stuff which on dial up is not fun.

Norton's customer service is some of the worst I've ever encountered with a company.

I finally found (from another web site) that defragging the hard drive can help. This I've done and at the moment it seems to be working. If this was the simple solution why wouldn't Norton say so? As this seems such a simple solution I still keep expecting Norton to turn itself off again. I will not use this company again because of the poor customer service.

I won't tell you not to buy this product but you should be aware that some people have incredible difficulty with it while others have no problem at all. If you are unluky don't expect any help from Norton.

The question is do you feel lucky?

    ABSOLUTE RUBBISH 21 July 2007
3 members of my family all bought different versions of Norton each for different computers and all of them made the computer boot up very slowly, whilst it loaded the program. Then it NEVER found one virus on either mine or my dad's laptop, even though my computer was getting slower and slower, installed a cheap anti-virus program and it had detected 10 within 5 minutes, where as the norton had found 0 only 20 minutes before I installed the new one. ADVISE: DO NOT BUY as it's a waste of money!!!! In fact Norton if you want you can pay me millions just to make a program that pretends to check all the files on your computer and then put up a big smiley face saying "Everythings fine, now please send another £20 to us and we'll do nothing.....AGAIN"

I have used Norton ever since I bought a new laptop about a year ago, and it keeps telling me that it has switched the auto protect anti virus capability off (by itself). Of course it then won't let me switch it back on. Try, and it boots up the live update. You know, when I toggle a switch asking to do one thing, I do not expect a program to go off and do something else altogether. What's more, once the live update is complete, Norton still won't let me switch back on the auto protect. The only way round it is to restart my computer. Not very handy. So: what good, exactly, is an anti virus package that keeps switching itself off and won't let you switch it back on again? The answer is: no good at all. I'm off to remove Norton and I install AVG.
