Think twice before purchasing this software.
I don't think it is a co-incidence that all the rave reviews relate to the 2001 version. Unlike previous versions, Systemworks 2002 requires you to uninstall all Norton products first. Unfortunately, they don't appear to have made this very easy, if at all possible. As a result, things tend to go drastically wrong.
I've tried to install NSW2002 five times without success. Judging by the number of 'bad install' comments on the support page, I'm not the only one struggling.
Be prepared to jump through lots of hoops, like install in safe mode, edit the registry or manually uninstall.

This software is vital for anyone who owns a PC, in addition to its famous anti-virus qualities, it also has the capacity to optimise the performance of your computer. It can also clear out unwanted internet clutter, speed up your hard disk, detect and repair errors. When I ran my first system scan it detected 160 errors and repaired them for me. This software is very easy to use, even for a beginner.

As students will know it's exam time just now so I'll set you a small test to get you in the mood for exams or, for you non-students, to help you empathise with them.
Consider the following senario:
I have a 2-3 yr. old PC on which I have performed a clean-install of XP.
My Father has a brand new PC with XP preloaded on it.
Which of these machines crashes daily, is slower and invariably requires restarts after connecting "hot-swappable" USB peripherals?
If you said the older PC you would be wrong. It's the shiny new machine.
Now, which of these had SystemWorks(and the superbly integrated Norton Firewall) painlessly, quickly and easily installed?
You guessed it. The older one!
This is not the most scientific of tests, I know, but I believe my own case highlights why you need this software.
In a time when 1 in 5 PC's have at least one virus it is foolish to not spend the money now
and hope it never happens to you.
If you want to know about the benifits of this software I suggest you read the official review and take it at face value. One other piece of advice - get Norton Personal Firewall too. It sets itself up automatically, for the most part, and will protect you from not only hackers but also web sites scanning your computer. Again, why take a chance.
Without wanting to scaremonger I think it should be highlighted that if you have and sensitive documents (client/patient/bank/school records) or material of sentimental value (photos, letters or songs) that you don't want destroyed or worse, made available to all and sundry, then this is for you.
It does exactly what it says on the... er,... disproportionately large cardboard box containg a CD and a well set out, if totally supefluous (thanks to the products ease of use), manual.
May you have many happy hours with your newly optimsed, error-and-virus-free hard-disk.

be careful about go back by roxio
although norton itself is very good but the go back feature in the utilities is not at all helpful and can cause you'r procesor to do overtime and be bothersome
