Having been a long time user / part time sufferer of norton products I ditched them a couple of years ago to save on processor.
However I have returned due to this product - it is light on processor, quick in all actions, easy to use, and overall a far superior product over its predecessors

If we view this as just being Norton Internet Security, then I have no complaints and would give it 5 out of 5 stars. It's fairly lightweight on the system in comparison to previous incarnations and seems to do the job without much of a noticeable slowdown on my PCs. Most of the notifications are unobtrusive it will happily scan your computer during idle periods. There's also add ons for various web browsers to make sure you don't land on phishing sites etc. I did encounter one issue during the installation of this and that was it removed my old subscription, but after firing off an email to Norton they quickly rectified it and gave me an additional 6 days as a gesture of goodwill so I'm happy with their customer service.
Norton Utilities is bundled on a separate disk. The disk cleaner, registry cleaner and registry defragmenter seem to work as advertised so I have no problem there. I can't say I've tried the disk repair since I've been fortunate enough to have never experienced disk problems on my current system.
Using the services tuner and system optimisation caused issues with my network so they had to be rolled back, so not too much of a problem as it was easy to undo.
The disk defragmenter (Speed Disk) would barely get 1 star from me. It is incredibly slow and doesn't start to move any files until half an hour after starting it. The boot optimisation actually made by boot times worse and there's also a something they label "Real-time defrag". This monitors your hard disk continuously and sorts out your hard disk during idle time. On 2 computers the monitoring keeps turning off on the third which has never had a blue screen I've had to turn it off as it causes the system to crash within minutes. All 3 systems have 1TB hard disks and are running Windows 7 64 bit.

BEST Internet Security Suite on the PLANET.! - at the moment...
Before I moved back to (NORTON Internet Security Suite "2012" with Performance Pack), I used Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 07, 08, 09.
I found Kaspersky Internet Security Suite very, very aggressive and using up lots of system resources - however, "it never let me down".
I built my own new intel i5 750 Machine in 2010, with Win 7 x64 and installed NORTON ISPP then from: "2010" - "2012" whole package as it had
lots of 5 stars reviews all over the internet and in Magazines.
Anyway, I must say I'm thrilled to bits with the New "2012" GUI interface - 9/10 very attractive layout indeed.!
Norton Internet Security "2012" has every feature, Bell, and Whistle, under the sun, +Plus lots more, even the "Performance Pack" aka:
"Norton System Works" & with "Norton Utilities" it certainly helps keep everything running smooth in superb. -: its fixed my PC registry
scores off times, SO its an excellent registry mechanic.
It also fine Tunes and Optimise's the System performance of Vista / Windows 7 64 / 32-Bit, leaving a sluggish system, with a neat and quick make over.(it works).!
Excellent value for money, and its very easy on the CPU & MEMORY. (3 computer licenses for the price of 1.) FAB :)

Security Pack, so this is a Bargain. Its already found several attacks, trying to get past the firewall and blocked each one of them, very impressed.
It's really done a number on Kaspersky I.S this year 2012, which is fine too, if it keeps up this level of security I will renew my N.I.S 2013 subscription. (God willing).
I will always stick with Norton again, if they can keep up this high level of protection and performance at a meager 28 Quid for 3 PCs in the one household.
For silver surfers young and older, this 'Norton Pack of goodies' is really essential. - without needing to read the manual, its all there, in an easy to use GUI format.
