Product Description

Spencer Tracy stars in this epic adventure story following the exploits of Rogers' Rangers, a collection of brave and hearty men during the French and Indian Wars of 1759. America is a hostile and savage land being torn apart in a territorial war between the British and French, each side assisted by rival Native Indian tribes. Also fighting for the British are the men of Major Rogers corps, known to history as Rogers Rangers, a perfect blend of soldier and survival expert. Trained to fight in all conditions, the Rangers must cross the vast mountains and rivers to reach St Francis undetected but it will prove a bloody and costly mission.

Like the review from R. A. Bailey

This is a review for the picture quality its so very poor and out of focus,it spoils the whole movie. Its quite sad as its a classic movie. I have been waiting the UK release of this for years. Im very dissapointed.

Im going to try to buy a different region/import release to see if i can find a better one.

Don't buy this cheap U.K. release like i did. But shop around for a better quality version.

I'm glad there are others here that share my view.
I also waited for this gem of a movie to be released onto DVD and this is what we get.
(Very poor transfer quality)!
My old VHS copy provides clearer sound & picture. Avoid this and wait for a decent restored release.
Shame!!. . . What an absolute shame!!

VERY POOR TRANSFER 17 Jun 2010
Format:DVD
This is a review for the picture quality of the "PEGASUS" version;as since you are interested in purchasing the film you already know its qualities,so further enjoyment comes from the viewing quality of the picture.I give it only 1 star due to the poor quality transfer which spends most of the time out of focus and being very noisey.Almost seems like a bad VHS transfer.Unless you are desperate for a copy of this film,AVOID.

Awful transfer!!
This is a wonderful movie in glorious technicolour. However, the transfer looks to have come from an old, poor VHS cassete as no film master could be so bad. Read more
