Very nice coverage by Mr. Johnsen of the diminutive, yet capable, F-5 and its relatives, from T-38 to F-20.
Very fascinating the genesis chapter, with interesting notes on N-156 light fighter project.
Also a carrier borne variant was envisioned, but the Air Force has the merit to put in production one of the most succesful jet fighter, albeit in the form of a so valid trainer (T-38) that also nowadays, near 50(!) years from its inception is upgraded and firmly assessed as the standard trainer for the most important Air Force in the world.
Then chapters on the F-5A/B follows, an interesting overview of "Skoshi Tiger" ops. in Vietnam and the second generation F-5E/F. This overview of the "tiger" closes down with one of the most interesting Mach 2 fighter of recent times, that F-20 that deserved more luck.
In all this volume is a very nice product, devoted to all enthusiast of the "Skoshi Tiger"
