More About the Author

No children or animals were harmed in the writing of these novels, but the author did turn into a Miss Marple look-a-like during the process, whilst devising and scheming storylines to keep the dear reader happy. I hope the latest creations will soon be streaming down your fibre optics and into the electronic device or paperback book of your choice.

If you love a gritty family saga in a beautiful setting, then Northern Spirit is one for you. It is the first in the series and introduces the Keldas family and follows, in the main, the life of David the eldest son.

The Last Boat To Nowhere is the second novel in the Keldas series. It starts in 1974 and follows David Keldas through to the next decade. It is out on Kindle now and in paperback. Although this is the second in the series it can stand alone and be read as a taster.

Keld Head: The Keeper of The House is the controversial prequel and completes the trilogy of the Keldas family saga. Read it first or read it last. It begins in 1903 and follows the life of Robert, Freddie and Elizabeth Keldas in Edwardian England. This is a romance like no other as we journey through Lakeland during wartime and peace.

Coming soon: Jamie : Life Through Monochrome Eyes. To be released before the end of 2014... Digital version only.

All of the Keldas family series are available in paperback from Amazon should you wish to have and hold a real book or buy as a gift for a friend.

If you enjoyed reading any of my novels please will you leave a short review on Amazon for me and, especially for you, I will wave my arms about and jump up in the air and shout: Whoo Hoo!

To Paint a White Horse is now available on Kindle. It is a quirky English mystery. It will depend on its success whether I put it in print.
I wrote it with a view to being a light-hearted story with human interest. The characters are all likeable, especially Jonathan Miller, the marathon runner. This is a contemporary novel and is unique in its subject matter in the restoration of a massive chalk horse.

Donkey Innocence will make you smile and long for the freedom of youth and the beauty of innocence. All royalties from this story go to the Brooke.org an international animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the world's poorest communities.

A really good read. David had such a crazy time with so much going on that he needed to contend with unexpected twists and turns along the way. I don't read many books but I am glad I invested the time to read this one and it has sparked my addiction to carry on to the sequel. After reading the synopsis to the sequel- it'd not all over for David....

I really enjoyed this book.....what do you want from a book? I want to want to read the ending from at least 30 pages in.....and I did! I wanted to get to the end to know what was going to happen, I hate it when you read a book and you just haven't invested anything in the story but you feel honour-bound to finish it. In this case there was no such feeling, it was a joy to complete! A few good twists and and now I want to read the next! Good job. Read it.

This is not really my "kind" of book but thought I'd give it a punt as I used to live near the lakes and also worked with the authors brother for awhile, plus I'm a sucker for a bit of nostalgia!

I was pleasantly surprised so hence have no qualms about recommending this book. I found the characters believable and the story had enough twists to keep me interested.

Enjoy.

Northern Spirit has some wonderful descriptive passages. Don't expect a James Herriot type of story though. I would say it has more the essence of a Bronte novel, but set in the seventies. It captures a claustrophobic existence on a remote Northern farm (with hidden menace). There are unexpected twists, but at its heart it is a romance. I enjoyed reading this book and don't hesitate in recommending it.

For lovers of the English Lake District, this novel has the additional bonus of some very evocative descriptions of the fells. Set in a fictional farmhouse in 1973, the family saga is centred amongst the fells above Grasmere. The plot has many twists and turns which make for an absorbing read.
