From the simply sublime theme tune of the series, through the Cajun/French sounds of Jolie Louise and the last Medley track, you are taken on a wild ride of seemingly disparate musical styles - but this combination REALLY WORKS.
I bought this CD when it was first released, because I am a huge fan of the series - little did I know that the CD would open so many musical doors for me. Since my first listening, I have been out and bought CDs by Etta James, Nat King Cole, Miriam Makeba (the most beautiful voice I have ever heard) and the Songs of the Auvergne, performed by Maria Von Stade.
I cannot emphasise this enough BUY IT and buy into the topsy turvey, eclectic and often surreal world of Northern Exposure.
