Product Description

Product Description

This guide complements Snowdonia, Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula Walks in the Pathfinder series. It contains some more walks in the national park, but extends eastwards to embrace the less well-known but highly attractive countryside of north-east Wales that lies between Snowdonia and the English border: the Berwyn Mountains, Mynydd Hiraethog, the Clwydian Hills, the Dee valley and the Vale of Clwyd. The routes in this guide range from an entirely flat walk beside the River Clwyd from Rhyl to Rhuddland to ascents of Snowdon, Carnedd Dafydd and other peaks on the Berwyns and Clwydians.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book but please beware of the Snowdon walk, 8 July 2009

This review is from: North Wales, Snowdon & Offa's Dyke: Walks (Pathfinder Guide) (Paperback)
I have several of the pathfinder guides and in the main they are excellent. I just want to warn other people with regard to the Snowdon walk featured in this guide. The 'bit of a scramble' at the top is a huge understatement - it is a major scramble and even on the best day you will probably be in cloud and unable to hear because of the wind. We ended up coming down via the Llanberis path since we didn't feel we could risk the return via the Watkin path.

4.0 out of 5 stars Somem good walks, 15 Aug 2010
This review is from: North Wales, Snowdon & Offa's Dyke: Walks (Pathfinder Guide) (Paperback)
There are some good walks in this book but unfortunately the book covers a very wide area. If you are based in one place for a trip it would take a will to drive to some of the walks. The benefits are the circular nature of the walks and the different landscapes of Wales they include. I believe there is a more up to date book that just covers North Wales and Anglesey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear directions, maps you can reply on, excellent, 27 Nov 2003
This review is from: North Wales, Snowdon & Offa's Dyke: Walks (Pathfinder Guide) (Paperback)
This book proved to be indispensable during my recent walks in Snowdonia, at firth I had it in my pocket but when I took a wrong turn, I realised I could not move a muscle without it.
