This jacket is good for slight showers, but I wouldn't recommend it for heavy rain or freezing conditions due to its construction being very thin and light weight. Ideal for joggers/outdoor pursuit people who want the protection of North Face without the heaviness of their more traditional coats and jackets.

Don`t be mistaken thinking this is a lesser version of the soft shell Apex. If your into endurance running, cross country or long distance road running, then this jacket is for you. This wind stopping water proof is excellent for keeping the core of you warm yet lets the excess heat out through vents in the back. Secure pockets makes this jacket the job for all round long endurance running

I bought this item to use while mountain biking, i'ts protective enough to keep light/moderate rain off and you dry and to also allow you to stay relatively cool with the venting in the jacket. Not a full soft shell but so much better than a full waterproof cycling jacket for breathability. Ideal for running as well as an extra layer for the cold/wet mornings.
