We bought this just before a trip to North Carolina. It was fairly comprehensive but we felt that the general overall content was more aimed at the young or families rather than retirees such as ourselves. For example the excellent Daniel Stowe Botainic gardens near Charlotte were not mentioned and tour companies offering guided tours of a town were rarely mentioned - unless they were by Segway.

Moon Books usually take you off the beaten path. NC is a pretty good book, telling of some places out of the way, and areas of interest. If you live in NC and are looking for someplace new to visit, this book is worth a look.
