Perennial influences Steve Winwood and Small Faces are evident throughout North Atlantic Drift, which kicks off with the hook-laden feisty first single "I Just Need Myself" before moving up a gear with Simon Fowler's soaring vocals on the epic "Oh Collector". From here on in, it's business as usual for the sharp-dressed modish quartet, with proud anthems such as "Make the Deal" sure to satisfy OCS's loyal fanbase. Their avid trad-rock stoicism may have earned them painfully barbed reviews, but in a climate where karaoke kids are taking over the charts, Ocean Colour Scene offer a well-polished looking glass into an era when R&B and guitar-fuelled psychedelia truly rocked. --Christopher Barrett

Really a must for anyone who can remember fondly the britpops era. This album will be treasured in my collection for years and played repeatedly due to its mellow, yet refreshing sound...please please buy for your own sake, your missing out! A truly outstanding album that breeds colour into a dull room and tracks like "Oh collector", "Second Hand Car", and especially "North Atlantic Drift" will be played repeatedly.
A true work of art, its a must for any rock, indie fan!
I wasn't too sure if NAD was going to be any good.
The last two albums proving not too be a scratch on Moseley or B'sides or even Marchin' for that matter.
But the new album my opinion has definitely turned that it all around, they have certainly developed a new kind of a funky folky beat. Sounds like they've gone back to their roots.
This Digipak version is definitely worth buying over the regular CD version. You get some stylish postcards and a really jazzy cardboard style CD case, and it doesn't cost that much more than the regular CD.
Well worth the buy. You won't regret it!
