Product Description

Product Description

When the deviously amorous Norman plans a clandestine weekend away with his sister-in-law, he has some fun and games in mind. But not quite the fun and games that he gets...Ayckbourn's trilogy - "Table Manners", "Living Together" and "Round and Round the Garden" - has been hailed as a mould-breaking masterpiece. All three plays take place concurrently - so an exit in one becomes an entrance in another - and can be played in any order. The story of the same dreadful weekend is illuminated from three different vantage points: the dining room, the sitting room and the garden. With a distinguished cast including Robin Herford as Norman and Tessa Peake-Jones as Sarah, "The Norman Conquests" is a brilliantly entertaining comedy of our time: wise and witty, funny and profound. "The Classic Radio Theatre" range presents notable radio productions of much-loved plays by some of the most renowned playwrights, and starring some of our finest actors.

Great set of plays 28 Feb 2011
Format:Audio CD
This is a great set of three radio plays and you can listen to them in any order because they involve the same characters in the same situation but seen from different points of view. Parts of the plays are really funny and the plays are based on a comical situation. Inevitably with a radio play, from time to time you lose track of which character is speaking, but you soon catch up and that doesn't spoil the enjoyment. I would recommend this set of CDs for long car journeys.

At last a worthy production from the BBC Classic Radio Theatre series... well worth the money... an enjoyable romp... fondly remembered voices... enjoy.
