About the Author
Paula Metcalf is a hugely talented illustrator with a growing reputation. She graduated from Anglia Polytechnic University with a First Class Honours degree in illustration and an MA in childrens illustration. She won the Macmillan Prize for Illustration in 2003 and her first picture book, MABELS MAGICAL GARDEN (978 1 4050 5503 1), was published by Macmillan in 2005. She is the author and illustrator of WE LOVE BUNK BEDS! (978 1 4050 5565 9) and ITS MY BIRTHDAY! (978 0 230 01784 9) both of which feature the charming elephant sisters, Shirley and Doris. In addition to her book illustration work, between October 2007 and April 2008 Paula will also be Illustrator-in-Residence at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Buckinghamshire.
