This book, written by an obvious expert on the subject, deals with the history and present issues facing the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
Malster outlines how these waterways came into being, their changing nature and geography and their becoming a holiday destination. He further charts the problems which became serious towards the end of the 20th Century and the steps taken to save the Broads from ecological meltdown and death.
His style is arresting, clear and well-written. I would warmly reccomend this book to anyone interested in the Broads.
