This album is good for new fans, but old fans will find that the original recordings are better. There's a number of classics missing form this CD which I would have love to have seen re-recorded. It's a great album, but classics like 'scratch the surface' and 'santuary' sound different, and not in a good way. Still great songs, but I prefer the old recordings of nearly all the songs. Like I said, buy this if you're new to Sick of It All, but old fans should just listen to their old albums.

Great CD, they added some power to the classics. DVD is nice to see where the guys came from and live right now. No MTV Cribs houses.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mixed feelings 27 Mar 2012
By Brad Irvin - Published on Amazon.com

I've been a big fan of SOIA for years, and I favor their mid to later records to their earlier records. This kind of release usually bothers me , a band putting out a collection of old songs redone now. That said this album sounds great, these versions are better than the originals. I think it would be easier to take if their were more new songs on this release. Overall I would recommend this record even though I don't recommend the concept.

this is defineately a best of but why so short 38 minutes?they could have filled up the whole cd with killer songs and they misses a ton of matterial buy going short with the time!truely a long standing old school hard core band who have stayed strong over 20 plus years they have more than enough song that deserve to be on this best of comp and should have been on it!other wise very good set of songs but too short in my eyes needed more tracks that deserved to be on here!

5.0 out of 5 stars The name definitely speaks for it's self 23 Nov 2011

Let me say this, this album is NONSTOP!!! This album is full of energy and NEVER comes to a point where you want that song to end. Any Sick of it All fan should know that these are rerecording(It's pretty Obvious). With fan favorites like "Scratch The Surface" to "Built To Last". I think more songs should have been put on the album (Like the song "Step Down") but there's enough songs to hold anyone over.

In my opinion, I think some songs should have been switched out for other songs. It's not they were bad, its just that I would rather hear some songs than other songs. As for example, I would like to hear them rerecord "Pete's Sake" rather than "No Labels" but I'm content with whats here.

As I said before, these songs are rerecorded but every song is at full blast when it comes to having energy. It seems like SOIA put their live energy into an album and did a great job at doing that. I would reccomend this album to any fan of SOIA and anyone that listens to hardcore or punk music. But if you're new to the band, I would suggest listening to the original versions first so you get used to the original SOIA before listening to this masterpiece of an album.

5.0 out of 5 stars KRS-1 29 Dec 2011

This was a good idea, re-recording old songs, but with new stronger sound. It's great to hear KRS-1 on the album again - he has a great statement on last song.

5.0 out of 5 stars GET THIS 17 Dec 2011

Freaking get this. Don't whine about how much you like the original. Ya, we get it. That's why we like the band so much. The thing is, this cd is fresh. Get this and enjoy it. VIVA SICK OF IT ALL! And that's coming from a Irish/German American in Cleveland.
