A superb sequel 14 Oct 2002
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I've just finished reading this superb sequel to Storm Crow and have to say that JG has done a great job in adding more depth to the characters and relationships established in the first installment.

I was left with one nagging thought at the end of Storm Crow (see Ch 19) which Gulvin superbly addressed about half way through the sequel. It kind of revealed the ending for me but nevertheless, it was still thrilling journey to a satisfying conclusion.

All in all, a super read from start to finish.

This book, like its predecessor Storm Crow, is superbly written. Even for a longish novel, Jeff Gulvin keps the plot moving at a fair pace and his attention to detail throughout is admirable. These qualities and the very strong storyline combine to make this a "100 page a night book" which has kept me awake until the early hours.

The only criticism I would make is that, for me at least, the book seemed to end too quickly. It is some 570 pages long, but seems to come to a pretty hasty and and in somes ways unsatisfactory ending in the last 20 pages. The great detail which is present in the first 28 chapters disappears in the last 2 and this left me feeling very slightly "short changed".
