5.0 out of 5 stars I like WP7 20 Jun 2012
Colour Name:Black|Amazon Verified Purchase
Where to start. I went through pretty much all the platforms. Couple of years with Blackberry, couple of months with Android, 3 years with iPhone(s), Windows Mobile many years ago (horrible experience) and even Palm. If I look to last years, iPhone 3Gs and 4 was great. Then I realized that I need bigger display. Looked around tested couple of devices and ended up with HTC Titan as a first WP7 experience. I liked that device, but there was annoying bug with muffled voice during call and so I got rid of it and bought Galaxy Note and quickly changed for Galaxy Nexus.

Now, coming to Lumia 900. I have to say, it has less cores, less memory, smaller display, lower resolution. So is that fail? No absolutely not. I am honestly saying, that using Lumia is much more pleasure then Nexus. It is fast, I like the WP7 concept. It is limited on certain things, but nothing that would be extremely problematic for me. Phone size including display is just about that. Exchange sync is obviously flawless (not like on Android), integration with social networks is brilliant. Keyboard typing is absolutely fantastic and I couldn't find a keyboard on Android where I would be able to type so precisely as on WP7. I had in my hands for a day Lumia 800 and this is definitely more mature product in all aspects. Battery life seems to be average, 1 day non problem with push active for Exchange, Gmail, active chat and quite heavy usage. I expect it gets a little better as the battery settles down. If you like WP7, there is no better device now. I haven't tested camera yet, but I assume it is going to be more than acceptable. There are 2 things I see as a problem. First is the little metal thing around camera lens which gets scratched very quickly. The other is price of the device.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lumia 900 13 July 2012
Colour Name:Black
Having been an iPhone 3GS owner who foolishly updated ios all the way to 5 and was left with a paperweight, I started looking for a suitable replacement.
I didn't want the iPhone 4S seeing as it will be replaced in 4 months with the 5 and I don't like Android I was left with looking for a Windows Phone.

The Lumia stood out the most and I had the choice between the 800 and brand new 900 (which I chose).

As I use my phone for work purposes, email was essential (I use POP3 and OWA).

Setting up the POP was easy, however getting my OWA email was nothing short of a NIGHTMARE.

Basically, if you have a self-signed certificate, chances are you will have MAJOR problems with an error message stating there is a problem with your security cert which will not let you access your outlook email.

After over 2 weeks of head scratching I finally got it sorted with a .pfx certificate.

So, having now got a fully functioning phone, I can safely say this is the best phone I have ever owned.
It is intuitive to use, good to look at and not an iphone!

Yes, the app choice is limited but as this is a business phone, I don't care about angry birds et al.

The Nokia Drive Sat Nav is the quickest sat nav I have ever used. Once you download the uk map it finds your destination almost instantly and calculates your route just as quick. My Garmin is now obselete.

IE is pretty good and Bing search and local scout are also good.

Only complaint really is that if you visit a website in IE you cannot click on a phone number to call it, you can copy it but you cannot paste a number into the dialer - this is a bit of a pain but not the end of the world.

Would I buy another? YES
Why only 4 Stars?

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Phone Ever 14 Jun 2012
Colour Name:Black
If you ask Siri, the IPhone 4s's voice activated assistant what the best smart phone is, it will reply the Lumia 900. Since then Apple had to actually patch an answer as they can't have their customers knowing about how green the grass is actually on the other side of the fence.

First off, this phone is a beauty to hold, it's comfortable to hold and enjoy the button placement on the sides of the phone. The screen is big as it is the currant trend for smartphones as they become sources of new and media devices as well as a means to phone/text with someone.

For the last few years I've had the original IPhone, IPhone 3g and the IPhone 4s and I'll be honest, I was never truly happy with any of them. I could never get a signal, I believe my research pointed to the use of metals inside the phone blocking or disrupting the signal and the fact I found the operating system very plain and boring. I always wanted to jump onto another series of smartphone but the fact is once you buy an Apple product it's very hard to get away as generally some of your friends will have them and the constant advertising. I was genuinely scared to change platform. My only real alternative was Android devices which just do not appeal to me as I find them complicated and again horrid looking thoguh I know them to be generally the most powerful devices.

I'd researched on the Lumia 900 which had won multiple awards before release and having watched videos of the Operating System in action felt comfortable enough to finally jump ship - a move I have never regretted. Had the Lumia 900 a month now and it's truly an innovative, efficient and simple phone to use.
