Handling calls is effortless no matter where you are with the highly intuitive Always Ready feature – simply pick up the headset and start talking.
The in-ear design delivers immersive audio while the automatic volume adjustment and noise cancellation feature ensure the highest audio quality in all environments.
The Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-806 offers articulate design and sophisticated audio.
The Nokia BH-806 has a minimalistic, elegant and stylish appearance. It comes with a wide selection of ear pads for your comfort.
Using the Nokia BH-806 keeps your hands free for driving, typing or reading. And with only one button to worry about, it's also simple to use.
Despite the small size, the Nokia BH-806 offers excellent audio performance. Dual microphones and a high-powered speaker ensure calls are crystal clear on both ends of the call.

Nokia believes in the philosophy of beautiful design, combining aesthetics, function and emotion. The Nokia J follows this ideal. Unlike on most headsets, there are no clips or hooks. Its unique form, one flowing shape, makes it look almost organic, and combined with six different ear buds you’re guaranteed a perfect fit. The ergonomics are further enhanced by its weight, a mere eight grams; so light it’s easy to forget it’s there. Made partly of stylish stainless steel, the Nokia J also has a plastic curve to allow the Bluetooth antenna’s radio frequency to pass through it.
Of course, pure elegance alone isn’t enough. The Nokia J may be incredibly light, comfortable and secure, but thanks to a concept created by Nokia, Always Ready, it’s also very simple to use.
For a start, you only wear it in your ear when you make or take a call. The rest of the time it sits in a holder that clips, much like a pen, onto your clothes. When you need to use it, you just take it out and the headset takes care of the rest: powering up, connecting and call answering. Once it’s put back in the holder, the call is disconnected.
It’s this feature that makes the Nokia J breathtakingly energy efficient. From a single charge, you’re guaranteed 5 hours of talk time and an astounding 3 months of standby. When the battery is low, the headset tells you. Yeah, you heard right. It speaks.
The Nokia J also uses a Micro USB charger, this new charger is set to become industry standard, meaning you can use the same charger for the Nokia J as you use for virtually every other gadget, including smartphones and cameras.
From an audio point of view, there’s no doubt the Nokia J’s minimalist design presented a challenge to Nokia’s audio engineers. Outbound voice quality is very dependent upon the distance from your mouth to the microphone, which is why headsets need to stick out from your ear. However, the Nokia J is one of the smallest headsets in the world, making the distance that much greater.
To overcome this, Nokia sound engineers used Digital Signal Processing, the technology that quite literally finds your speech and purifies it by getting rid of any ambient static noise. Audio is further enhanced by automated volume control, allowing the Nokia J to adapt to the environment and adjust the volume accordingly. The result is a call quality that often sounds better than your smartphone.
Nokia isn’t renowned for boasting; quite the opposite. Yet, after a few days of using the Nokia J, it’s clear why the product team is so proud of their achievement. And they’re not the only ones singing its praises. The Nokia J has already picked up a couple of prestigious design awards from IF and Red Dot. Don’t be surprised if these are the first of many.
Although the battery life is rated to last for up to three months on standby, the Nokia BH-806 comes bundled with a complementary desktop charger so you can always keep it topped up.

Universal compatibility with devices supporting wireless Bluetooth technology: Bluetooth Specifications 2.1 + EDR,Headset Profile 1.1, Hands-Free Profile (HFP) 1.5
With the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-806, you can handle calls hands-free, even when you are using two mobile devices at the same time.
When you switch on your headset for the first time, voice prompts help you set up your headset.
The headset comes with different sized earpads. Select the earpad that fits the best and is the most comfortable for your ear. To change the earpad, pull the current earpad from the earpiece, and push the new earpad into place.
Before using the headset, you must charge the battery.
When you unplug a charger, hold and pull the plug, not the cord.
The fully charged battery has power for up to 5 hours of talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. If you keep the headset in the carrying clip, the standby time is up to 3 months.
When the battery charge is low, the red indicator light flashes, and you hear a voice prompt every 5 minutes. If you have deactivated voice prompts, the headset beeps every 5 minutes.
Remove the headset from the carrying clip. The headset beeps, and a green indicator light flashes once.
The headset connects to the last connected device. If you have never paired the headset with a device, or you have cleared the device pairings, pairing mode is activated.
Place the headset in the carrying clip. The headset beeps, and a red indicator light flashes once. All active calls are ended.
If not connected to a device within 30 minutes, the headset switches off.
Before using the headset, you must pair and connect it to a compatible device.
If you have previously paired your headset with another device, press and hold the phone button for 5 seconds.
Pairing mode is activated, and a blue indicator light starts to flash quickly. Follow the voice prompts.
You can pair your headset with 8 compatible devices, but you can only connect it to a maximum of 2 devices at the same time.
With some mobile devices, you may need to make the connection separately after pairing.

Gently push the earpiece into your ear.
When you're not using your headset, keep it in the carrying clip.
Have your headset always at hand — clip it to your pocket as you would a pen.
Set the desired volume level on your connected mobile device. The selected volume level is saved as the minimum volume level for the device that is currently connected to the headset. Your headset adjusts the volume automatically according to the level of background noise.
When you use the headset for the first time, it automatically connects to your mobile device. You can also connect your headset to another device, and manage calls from, for example, both your personal and your work mobile device at the same time.
If your headset is connected to two mobile devices, you can handle calls from both at the same time.

Stylish, but fuzzy sound,

This is a really smart looking Bluetooth headset which charges quickly and pairs very easily. However, when making test calls the person at the other end said that I sounded "fuzzy" and that it was not that easy making out what I was saying. I was in a quiet room at the time, so no background noise. The other thing which I find a bit odd, is the way it switches on and off. It comes with a very neat holder which is designed to clip onto your clothing. It is also charged in this holder when connected via a micro USB charger (supplied). However, when you put the headset into the holder, it switches off and disconnects from your 'phone. Pull it out, it switches on and reconnects via Bluetooth to your 'phone. This means that you have to keep it in you ear at all times (or next to you) to be switched on and available for use., rather than in the supplied holster. Maybe I an being picky here, but I would have liked to have it neatly in the holster ready for pop in my ear, without having to wait (albeit be it only a couple of seconds) for the pairing to take place each time... You need to decide for yourself if this is really an issue or not.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I got this classy looking Nokia J BH-806 headset for my teenage son, who had it linked to his Blackberry Bold 9780 within minutes, so it must be easy to set up. The headset case is non-allergenic stainless steel [no nickel]. The unit has a rechargeable li-ion battery, weighs 8g and is 47.4 mm x 12.5 mm x 6.4 mm. More importantly, despite it's rather odd shape, it does hold onto the ear quite well and is comfortable. The unit comes with a neat clip on mini-holster 'CH-1 travel-clip' to store and attach the unit to say a shirt/jacket or carry-case pocket. It really helps to use the CH-1 holster as it pushes in the control button of the headset and so auto switches the headset off when not in use. You can also charge through the holster unit. As soon as it's pulled out of the holster, the headset automatically switches on and mates with the mobile phone. The headset comes with a Nokia AC-10 mains charger, recharges in 1h, and it's battery lasts up to 100 hours in standby, or 5 hours talk time, or 3 months in 'off' mode. The holster can accept a standard micro USB lead for recharge, so our Sony in-car and mains USB charge adaptors can also recharge the headset [it requires 5V like USB]. The holster's micro-USB socket is the new flatter shape, and the same as the ones for my Sony Xperia 8 phone and Logitech Performance MX mouse. It fully recharges in 1 hour, and 15 minutes charge wll give 2.5h talk time. Nokia warn that overcharging can damage the non-replaceable battery. There's also a concise well written paper pamphlet user guide, and the usual small, medium, or large set of silicon ear inserts. It appears to be only guaranteed for one year, as I can't find any info to the contrary within the display box.My son was impressed with the sound quality both via the speaker and the microphone. The headset has 'active background noise cancellation with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology and wind noise reduction', 'Automatic Echo Cancellation (AEC)' and the noise isolating in-ear design. Once set by the phone, volume adjustment is automatic, depending on background noise, although this background noise coming into your other open ear can still be quite distracting. The headset talks through a few things like connection established, language [English/Chinese] and battery charge left. The headset also beeps and flashes a red or green LED to tell you what it's thinking. It can pair with up to eight devices and two at any one time. Nokia say it's compatible with 'any phone' that supports Bluetooth Specification 2.1 + EDR, Headset Profile 1.1 and Handsfree Profile (HFP) 1.5. My son never uses this headset for music MP3s via the phone, as it's mono only and he always has an iPod Touch or Nano in his pocket as well as his Blackberry. To automatically phone link and receive a call just remove the headset from the holster. To end the call, put the headset back in (without the holster, it's a more complicated manual pressing of the single control button). If you press the control button twice the call is rejected. You can use voice control if your phone is capable, and pushing the control button once will redial the last number [if no call is active]. Pushing the button once can also end a call or activate a call on hold. Holding the button for 4 seconds switches the headset off, and holding it for 9 seconds activates voice control. We keep a crib sheet of the main control button clicks as my son doesn't use the headset that often [as he texts far more frequently than voice calls]. The headset has a maximum range of 10m. It's won various prestigious awards for its quality sleek metal design. Only downside is that it may fall out of the ear due to the lack of an over-ear clip if you are moving about a lot - although that's because this unit is designed to be quickly moved from ear to holster and back as required. Plus there's the slightly fiddly operation, no apparent way to replace the internal battery (Nokia say 'non-replaceable'), and a premium price-tag aimed at 'business users' - it's not unaffordable though for such a desirable multi-awarded design. Otherwise it's quite fun, mostly easy to use, clearly built to last in an Apple sort of way (i.e. until the internal battery packs in, probably after around 4 years use), and it's a thing of beauty which includes the designer presentation box my son still keeps to store it in, so 4*.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
The Nokia is a well made, easy to use and effective blue tooth device. The downside is that it isn't as secure in the ear as the loop based products and at around £50 it is too expensive when compared to other devices. I would also have expected a car charger for the price. If the cost was around £25 then it would be worth considering. Not recommended.Pros Well made. Looks good. Easy to use. Small and easy to carry around. Quick and efficient blue tooth connectivity. Good reception for incoming and outgoing voice. Cons Far too expensive. Can occasionally fall out of the ear, especially with head movement. The silver body may make it a bit obvious for some users. Would expect a car charger for the price.
