Firstly, I am 'old school' and prefer to 'pay as I go', buy a 'phone and pay for the services I need. So what I was looking for was a 'phone which could be used for the internet and checking e-mail on my LAN rather than the network GPRS. This Nokia E72 is just perfect!
The GPS mapping is good, but however the 'phone will attempt to connect to a network to help it establish a position. Easily solved by password protecting the GPRS network access, and then ignoring the 'phones requests to connect. It doesn't need to, as it will find your position anyway!
If, however I am away from a WI-Fi connection area, then I can simply choose to connect via my mobile service provider.
The WI-Fi and e-mail was very easy to set up, as was the personal settings.
The camera is good and new images can be set to automatically upload to your PC when connected. There is no PC software included, but this is available for free download via the Nokia website.
Now, I have found just one very little niggle, and that is the camera function button is also the 'back' button for applications. This means, of course, that one 'back' press too many results in the camera being activated.
So overall, this is a good 'phone, reasonably priced and well made.
