While the DC-8 Extra Power is quite handy for topping up on the move, it seems to simply fail to top up my N95 when using rechargeable batteries.

The DC-8 can recharge NiMH batteries using a standard 2mm Nokia charger which it does quite well, even shutting off when the battery is charged, but this doesn't seem to help in my case as the phone actually loses power when hooked up to a rechargeable battery!

With a standard lithium battery it will top up with no hassle at all.

It's a big shame that the DC-8 doesn't cope well with NiMH batteries as this would have been the perfect stand-by charger.

A very handy little charger for a Nokia phones. The DC-8 takes a single AA battery and is more than sufficient to recharge your phone; the charger itself is little bigger than a the AA battery it takes and takes up very little space and weight in your bag. The only downsides to is the cable could do with being a fraction longer and it is quite expensive. It is however about the best of the emergency phone chargers I've had.

been very impressed with this so far, bought 1 for my brother as a stocking filler. we both have N-series phones, which eat batteries! comes in very handy when been out and about surfing the net and needed to charge it. definitely recommend it to anyone! i bought Duracell rechargeable batteries to go with it, which work like a charm. plus it fits in the pocket easily.
