June 2012 and this Nokia c5 remains one of the few Nokia mobile phones worth owning with at least 3 days battery life clear call quality and very robust build quality it's what Nokia do/did best compared to recent c3-01 or asha 300 it's much better quality and after having one for two years which has been dropped regularly and lived in dusty conditions it still works perfectly with normal t9 button layout its easy to make calls and text. It will do a little light web browsing but not as well as a "smart" phone.
If you just want to text SMS and make calls then this is probably the best available even in 2012. I hate touch phones with their poor interface lack of feel and poor battery life this c5 is a robust reliable work phone and nothing else comes close. If only Nokia would release an updated version rather than the cheap plastic nokia phones recently released. So my purchase of this is as a spare though I expect my existing c5 will continue on for another couple of years.
Will also run whatsapp and a few other apps so it's a semi smart phone.
Gps quite acceptable can get you out of trouble if needed but not as good as dedicated gps much like smartphones.
Free maps of the whole world.
What I like most
Battery life
Button feel is good quality
Size nice and compact
Build quality mine has been dropped lots and it just bounces and has no damage ... None ! Amazing !
What could be better
Screen could be a little bigger say 3 inch even of that meant the handset were bigger.
Even bigger battery for 5day battery life
What's missing
Wifi but who cares I use mine as a phone not a web email client, even so on 3G its capable of getting web and email.
In short it's an excellent classic style mobile with great build quality and battery life.
Guaranteed to give excellent phone and SMS service for many years... I've had mine for 3 years and it's been treated harshly but has survived no problem.
Reliable Simple and Robust.
