5.0 out of 5 stars Very good basic phone. 20 April 2014
I bought in Czech Republic this nokia x and I was surprised how good it is. It is on board a fork version of Android 4.1, it is dual sim, 3G, wifi, radio Fm, gps, hotspot, and comes with two great app like nokia here maps which allows to download all maps of every country in the world, and nokia mix radio where you can listen for free all the music you want. Pre installed are also other apps like opera, facebook, twitter, astro manager and viber. If you want whats app or instagram working on this phone is very easy. Open nokia store install the app 1mobile (who is a larger android store), open the app and download what you want. Whatsapp will in fact install in a breeze. Everything works perfectly, sometimes can have some lags but it is enough to delete the memory cache and everything is again perfect. This mobile comes with only 4 gb space but it is possible to insert a 64 gb sd card (nokia recommend a 32 gb but I've installed a 64 without any problems). The phone is sturdy and pleasant to have in hands comes with vivid colors, I've chosen green and I'm very satisfied with it. The battery is a 1500 mAh but if you have a regular use with the wifi always on it lasts a couple of days. The audio is very good and the quality of phone call excellent for a device of this level. I bought this mobile for 93 £ that I think is a very good price for a very portable mobile which can be used in every situation or like a second mobile. I finish only telling that the most negative point for someone can be the camera, with only 3mpx it could appear prehistoric, but when there are good light conditions, it takes nice photos. At the end shall I recommend this product? I would say yes, it seems to me very well balanced and has more pros that cons. Otherwise if you want to spend a 20-25 £ more there is the MotoG by Motorola

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm happy enough with it 13 May 2014
I am writing this review on the basis that i am a first time smart phone user and not a tecno geek, so i will keep it simple and straight to the point. I am planning going away shortly on a cycle tour and wanted a mobile which would keep me in touch with the outside world, have GPS, and play a bit of music without paying a fortune for it. The NokiaX fits this bill and gives me more, one feature that i really like is the mix radio, choose 3 of your favorite artists or groups and the mix will give you an assortment of music based around that genre and it can be downloaded to listen off line for up to 30days, i do like listening to music when out on my bike and so this means i wont have to pay roaming charges something I dread when I leave my country (France). Also on this point the Nokia x has a dual sim which is advantageous for me because my contract with free only allows me to use it in France, so the other card will be used for pay as you go in what ever country i visit. i also have an Archos 4/3 tablet which i must say has a better sound quality.
I am one of the older users of a smart phone and i really think too much is expected of smart phones by a lot of the younger generation it is only 30 odd years ago since walkmens first came on the market and by today's prices you would have had to pay one hell of a lot more just to listen to a bit of music from a cassette let alone having a camera to go with it. i have taken a few pics with the camera and must say that being a keen amateur photographer I dont like it, because i prefer to use the real thing. i have just ordered one of these
which I hope will enable me to download photos from my camera to the Nokia. In short for the 100 I paid for it I am chuffed to bits

4.0 out of 5 stars Good phone but some weaknesses 5 May 2014
Verified Purchase
The seller sent it in time. It is working fine but the battery run out too quickly to me particularly when you use several but simple apps. It is not user friendly either because there is not a user manual in the box. You have to go online to found out it works. The main problem is the weak battery's life. I recommend it if you are not mobile phone addicted.

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent phone let down by Nokia's OS fiddling 28 Jun 2014
It is a well built entry level smartphone. It does feel better than some more expensive ones.

Why 3 stars? well, it is a shame that Nokia is using Google's Android and bars all Google services I have tried so far. No Google Play Services (forget any Android games with your account, for example), no Google store forcing you to find the very same products you'd find there in third party stores (Nokia's store has too few to even bother) which you don't know what sort of information they will be taking from you... This alone (trying to limit a open source OS...) would be enough to remove the 2 stars... but also wish they had used a bit more beefier processor. Not complaining much about this last one as it is a damn cheap dual sim smartphone that is well built.

Nokia seems to be going the dodo way unfortunately, but until then I will be enjoying this phone albeit with limitations. Not a problem for me as I just need it as a second phone for traveling and a second UK number as I have an iPhone as my day to day phone.
