Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Nokia 3230 allows you to create your own ringing tones, print your mobile images, play multiplayer games over a wireless Bluetooth connection, and browse HTML and xHTML Web pages. Plus, with the expandable memory slot, you'll have lots of space to be creative.

The clear 65K colour screen provides the perfect image. Snap high-quality pictures with the integrated 1.3 megapixel digital VGA camera with digital zoom. Or record a video clip and share it with a friend in seconds.

The Nokia 3230 uses the new hi-fi ring tone technology called "polyphonic". Its obvious that a great deal of research has gone into making the most of the amazing sound quality, the clarity and loudness of the sound at full volume simply defies belief.

The Nokia 3230 mobile phone uses a Pop-Port interface connector. This new feature will be a primary interface connector in future Nokia phones.

It has been designed to support new advanced functionalities such as stereo audio, fast data connectivity and digital accessory identification. Pop-Port will radically expand the choice of ground-breaking and interesting accessories for the Nokia 3230.

5.0 out of 5 stars i was never one of those phone kids...untill, 7 Jan 2006
I cannot believe this phone… how pleased with it am I? Really very pleased.
I think what makes this phone so good is the Symbian operating system. Like your windows or Mac o/s, this is the interface that lets you exploit all the cool things this phone can do. And then keep adding to/tailoring those cool things to your needs. The phone is stuffed with apps that let you edit photos/video/sound. And then more stuff. And games. Everything your old phone did is here, just a little better. Not lest because of how flexible it is. You can really make it your phone. This will do what most people use the palms PDA's for, so capable is it. Again I think this is thanks in no small part to Symbian.
The first phone I owned was a Nokia, every phone I’ve owned since I have regretted not buying another. Nothing else has the logical, user friendly well put together-ness. Each progressive menu takes you to exactly where you expect, does what you want, then gets you back to where you started. Sounds simple? Not for Motorola… and none of this is even the reason I’m so into the phone, that has to be the camera.
I always wanted a camera phone that could take a picture, not just a blurry mess of pixels. An old maxim states; “The best camera is the one you have with you”. Yeah, if you can get a print off it. With this you get a camera that takes a pretty ok picture (remarkable for a phone cam). Not just that; you have a zoom, and best of all a low light setting. I don’t know about you but every picture I want to take with a phone seems to be in low light. Then once you have taken the pic's you can Bluetooth them to a photo printer booth. They never said the future would be this cool at school. But better yet, you have a hot swappable mmc card slot so you can cram your phone with pic’s and apps and mp3’s, up to 2gb (ok, it comes with a 32mb card…) so there you go. I like it.
Some people will tell you it has slow menus. The menus are noticeably slower than some, but we are talking the beat of a heart, rather than the blink of an eye. Look at comparable phones, and then wonder how they are doing this for that money, with that lovely big screen.

I have breifly experianced my friends 3230 and i found it the most slim line and superb caera quality phone i have ever seen. The games are absolutly amazing, and the realplayer makes it so easy to play all kinds of formats of video and music. This phone is amazing in every way. Best phone out by far!

3.0 out of 5 stars Full featured - less reliable mechanics, 5 Jul 2006

I chose this phone in August 2005 because of the full feature list. It has everything else except 3G. The acompanying Nokia Software Suite which is downloadable from the internet makes it hazzlefree to enable your laptop on the internet, download pictures etc...
Negative is the 7 navi keys around the joystick and the on/off switch. I had it repaired twice under warranty. Maybe it came from too many drops on the floor or whatever but it is less durable than my previous phones (Nokia 7650, 7170, 5150, 2110)
