5.0 out of 5 stars Classic 3 Mar 2005
No gimmicks, you can use it for any network(sim lock free)
Works well as a mobile - u can receive / send texts and not to forget calls.
I have used all kinds of phones (nokia ,sonyericsson, siemens, Philips, LG ) from lower range to smart phones and but this is a robust phone.
If you are looking for a phone, which does what mobile phone is supposed to do, your search ends here. Just buy this damn baby.... U will love it
Greatest invention for club lovers, as it has tiny torch and small in size compared to hard rock phones
Note: Battery lasts for ages

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Phone Ever 8 Feb 2005
This is the best phone I have owned in years. I just bought a Motorola V3 (as I am a gadget man) and have dumped this in favour of the Nokia 1100. It is a back to basics phone, calls and text is all it will do. But what a refreshing change to have a slim phone with changeable covers that does this and does this well.

Going back to a LCD screen is fabulous, great clear, simple and oh yes, you can read it out of doors, not like most colour screens. Best of all if the reception and battery life. I get more bars on this phone than on any other I owned. Battery life, it seems to go on and on.

I have just ordered another one from Virgin because I fear the days of LCD screens might end soon and I don't want to be forced to go back to overly complicated phones again. I am a gadget man who normally likes all of the bells and whistles, however the Nokia 1100 has changed me, get back to basics and do it well.

4.0 out of 5 stars x-mas Nokia! 25 Dec 2004
By ded
I got my Nokia 1100 on 25th December 2004, at about 9:15, and I think it's great! Just as long as it does what a normal and simple phone does (calls, recieves, sends texts, and recieves texts) I'm OK. Sure i'd like a phone with a camera, video, and polyphonic rigtones, colour, wicked graphics.....the lot, but this phone is fine for me, it's quick and easy to use. It's small, light, noticeable and looks quite cool. That's all I'm asking for, and so should you....

5.0 out of 5 stars Must be best budget phone 8 Oct 2004
This has got to be the nearest replacement to Nokia's long-standing excellent 8210, but much cheaper with a few more features. If you want a basic phone(by todays standards), but easy to use, then this has to be it. Mine is supplied by my employer and it gets a hammering, and keeps coming back for more. I even left it on the roof of the car and drove off, and hey presto, no damage. This is a best buy for a PAYG but not worth it on contract, as it is such a basic phone. BUY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally - a phone that knows what it is 9 Feb 2005

Amazon Verified Purchase
Fed up with paying for colour screens, built-in cameras and other novelties that drain your battery, bump up the cost and the weight but are actually pointless ? Then buy one of these. It's so good, I've just bought 2 more as spares. It comes with £5 of Virgin airtime, but you can just stick your Vodafone SIM in if you want.

My wife had a Sony Ericsson T610 and swapped for this, because it's easier to use and has better battery life.

I had a Nokia 6310i, supposedly the best business phone ever, but unless I need the Bluetooth in the car, or tri-band for going to the US, I now use an 1100 instead: lighter, faster switch-on, better keypad locking (no more embarrassing calls to 999, and it's got a torch so I can find the lock in my car door !

Just brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars This phone is the shizzle 17 Nov 2005
This is simply the greatest phone of all time, because it is just that, a phone. All these stupid things with cameras and colourful screens are all well and good, but they are surplus to requirements. This phone does everything a phone needs to; make and receive calls. If you want a phone and nothing else, then don't waste time looking at anything else. This is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent no frills phone 8 Feb 2005
By A Customer
I had a camera phone with bluetooth, calender etc etc for 6 months. After playing with these things initially and being impressed i never used them, all i did was call and text. The other menus were cumbersome and got in the way. What i wanted was a top quality phone, for texting and calls. Enter the 1100!! This phone is fantastic! its small, big keys, nice screen. Everything is in the right place and the menus are extremely fast. The battery life is outstanding. 2 weeks worth from one charge! I cant speak highly enough of this phone. Also the phone comes with a virgin sim card, which means 3p texts to my gf! After showing my friend this phone he bought 2 the next day! Finally the phone works with my vodafone sim card too, with no unlocking.

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic value 15 Feb 2005
after having many mobile phones over the years, this is a blast from the past, and i have found simple is best. on the more expensive phone with cameras and other fun but honestly pointless gadgets, combined with constant problems eg phone locking up etc etc. i cant fault this, in my opinion simple is best! after all what is a mobile for talking and texting simple as that!!! buy this phone even if just as a stand by!
