In the end the noise does stop... But I really wish it didn't.,

Shy Child are a New York Keytar/Drums duo who write catchy synthpop and dancey songs popular in many indie dance clubs. Their third album, "Noise Won't Stop", is a massive step forward from their previous albums, and it's safe to say it's their best. The single "Drop The Phone" opens the album, being arguable the band's most popular tune. And with good reason, it has a catchy beat and memorable lyrics. Next up is "Pressure To Come" another typical Shy Child song, followed by "Kick Drum" which contains some nice rapping by Spank Rock to add a twist to the Shy Child sound. "The Volume" follows this, before launching into funky footstomper, "Generation Y", which is one of my favourite tracks from the album. The crunchy synths and poppy piano are complimented by the female vocalists and it's one of the many tunes on this album you can really get your groove on to. Following this is another of my favourite, "Astronaut", a massive, heavy 3/4 beat foot stomper with a very fast, bleeping synth soloat the climax. "Good and Evil" follows this before leading into single and title track "Noise Won't Stop". This song has previously been released on Shy Child's second album (One With The Sun) but it sounded like a demo. In this version it has been cleaned up, given extra layers of synth and effects, and sounds much heavier, better, and in every way it's gone from being an average track on the second album to being the best track on this one. The single "Summer", also recycled and cleaned up from One With The Sun, is a really poppy electropop song that is upbeat and happy, although it must be said it fits in with the summery feel of One With The Sun more than it does here. That doesn't stop it from being a really good track. "What's It Feel Like?" is the penultimate track, and it's a little bit slower but it's shadowed by what can only be described as a "very very very epic finale", which is the 5 minute "Cause And Effect". Now why this final song wasn't released as a single I will never know, but one thing is certain; you will dance. Starting off quietly and building into a dance epic, Shy Child demonstrate they can go out with a bang, and a very big one at that. By the end of this album you will think one of two things. 1: "What have I bought? I'll never waste my money like that again." 2: "That was the BEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD." All in all, the noise did stop, but if you, like me, are one of the latter type of people, then you will wish so much that it could go on forever.

This album is wicked, loads of catchy songs, for those that are'nt too familiar with shy child their are only 2 members in the band and they are from NYC. They make complex songs sound easy and smooth with lots of synth keyboards and funky drumming. I wouldnt say "nu-rave" i would more say electronica. worth the money!

Its definately worth getting but they are soo much better live. Summer is definately my favorite song from them when they did it live at the Mean Fiddler in 2006, I can almost do the synthesiser line on my bass.
