This album is wicked, loads of catchy songs, for those that are'nt too familiar with shy child their are only 2 members in the band and they are from NYC. They make complex songs sound easy and smooth with lots of synth keyboards and funky drumming. I wouldnt say "nu-rave" i would more say electronica. worth the money!

Its definately worth getting but they are soo much better live. Summer is definately my favorite song from them when they did it live at the Mean Fiddler in 2006, I can almost do the synthesiser line on my bass.

I went to see Klaxons recently and Shy Child had the job of getting the crowd ready to rave! Given that there are only two of them, they created a great energy and everyone was dancing and glow sticks were flying... it is fair to say that the USA can do nu rave just as well as us brits (well maybe not quite... but this is a good start!)

Rave on music lovers!

Good times 4 Dec 2008
By M. T. - Published on Amazon.com
This was a totally unexpected find for me. I too went to the Faint last time around and Shy Child opened for them (as did Glass Candy). But while watching Shy Child I couldn't help but feel like it was familiar to me. Then later while going through my records and such and looking around on the internet I figured it out.... SUPERSYSTEM. If you like(d) Supersystem then Shy Child should have stuck out to you. BOTH AMAZING!

Get this album. And check out Supersystem while your at it!

Best Opening Band I've Ever Seen 30 Nov 2008
By C. Burdick - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
We went to go see The Faint in concert and got there a bit early. I usually listen to the opening bands in the background while waiting, but Shy Child caught my attention right away.

I enjoyed their show from beginning to end, instantly becoming a fan. I bought this CD at the show despite being worried that it won't be as good as it is live, but I was wrong. This CD is fantastic, and I still listen to it all the time.
