Format: DVD
Don't believe all you read this is a region free DVD (At least the copy I bought is) The music is raucous almost like Neil Young and Crazy Horse with out the horse, Loud electric guitar in the main part. The songs are what you expect from Neil Young and marmite in nature love or hate him, I have found the album growing from being a mediocre album on first listen to something much better and while not classic Neil it's much better than some have said.
The video is predominently black and white, often fuzzy and benefits from Neil's strange production values, again marmite in nature.
The sound is apparently 96/24 LPCM so as goods as DVD will support, though there are rumours on some sites suggest that this is an upscale of a 44.1/24 bit music file handed to the DVD authors. Whatever the truth is this it sounds pretty good.

All in all not a bad album and a grower.

No extras and in a horrible thin sleeve (so annoyingly, you can hardly see the spine amongst your other dvd's on the shelf)
BUT
as usual Neil delivers in spades, great tunes and some atmospheric filming all in grainy black and white, which actually fits really well with the album's 'feel'.
Basically it's reall good to whack it on the DVD player, (wired up to your stereo being obligatory) and having some visuals to look at whilst you listen to this great Neil Young album.
It definately is region free too by the way.

First I received a completely damaged package, I complained to Amazon and got my money back, no problem. The disc had also some scratches, but mostly played OK. Second, this very short BD (30min+) is not a concert, so what is this thing? Sometimes I concider Neil as one of the best musicians in the world, sometimes he sounds horrible. Question is if its me who sometimes cant understand this true artist, or if he in a period of time has consumed to much drugs? I think he knows more than me of his personal state about the issue!. However the review is about "Le noise". Ok, its noisy! But when I play it over again some times I can feel that Neil has a story to tell, and he tells it noisy!

He is sitting in a beautiful room, black and white colors, and playing his guitar noisy and sometimes angrily. I think you either will love or hate this disc depending on your relationship to the true artist or your personal condititon when you listen to this extremaly special recording. Its your choice!

This is a fantastic collaboration between Neil and Daniel Lanois (producer extraordinaire). Don't expect the simple arrangement of, say, "Only love can break your heart" instead think of "Weld" ... then some! Brilliant album and truly awesome video. 10 out of ten!!!!!
