The Human Abstract are a Mathcore/Progressive Metal band with a very unique sound. God knows why they are linked with trash like Protest The Hero on the big brother shopping list recommendations. They sound nothing alike and have no resemblance whatsoever.
The songs have the typical metalcore scream/sing structure to them with heavy melodic undertones.
Critics have pointed out the dodgey singing vocals on the album, and I see why some people would have a problem with them being slightly whiney, but the screaming more than makes up for it imo.
Listen to "Crossing the Rubicon" and "Polaris" to get a good idea of what this band sounds like.
