Versailles are the Japanese Visual-Kei-Revival power metal band that're turning the heads of hardcore metal-junkies all over the world. More serious than DragonForce, more complex than Nightwish. And to top it all, Anne Rice "Vampire Chronicle" fans will LOVE this! Kamijo, the bands wonderful vocalist, is the Japanese embodiment of the french vampire, Lestat himself.
The bands sound is the perfect melding of power and beauty. Often compaired to a rose, because of its beautiful melody (flower), and heavy guitar work (sharp thorns.) I've heard a few people complain that their sound is too aggressive. However, that's infact a very shortsighted opinion, that simply proves that particular listener, cannot fully comprehend, everything this band conveys.
Japan has a lot to offer everyone. Not just Dir en Grey.

I think that this album is their greatest possible work so far, for those of you who purchased Lyrical Sympathy you'll find a bit of a change on this one as you'll find alot of the songs on this album, for example Zombie, Suzerain and The Revenant Choir ~new take~ have a heavier sound to them.
Hizaki and Teru's guitar work is still mind blowing along with the heavy and complex drum work of Yuki combined with Jasmine You's amazing bass riffs (particularly accentuated on a few tracks) then topped off with Kamijo's fantastic vocals.
I have the first press japanese limited edition, which doesnt have the original The Revenant Choir because its a european bonus track. So if you've already pre-ordered this album then you are purchasing an amazing album, and if you haven't but like versailles or Hizaki Grace Project then this album comes very highly recommended.

I recommend this cd for any new japanese music listeners, or to anyone already a fan; add this to your collection. A nice balanced mix of classical and rock! The music keeps you interested throughout the entire CD with songs that sound different from each other. The DVD that goes with the CD is AMAZING! It's the video of "Aristocrat's Symphony". Versailles are wonderful actors and Kamijo is an excellent singer as well. "Aristocrat's Symphony" is in english, and it took me a while to understand Kamijo, but now that I love the song just the same. Kamijo's Japanese, on the other hand, is very easy to understand. This is Versailles' first cd, but don't judge it because of that!
