Book Description

Veronica Cruz has been through hell and back. After disconnecting with the world two years ago to be at the side of her dying mother, she’s left alone, unemployed, overweight, and feeling a decade older than her twenty-eight years. When her best friend coaxes her into joining the local gym to ditch her depression and rejuvenate her life, she meets Noah. Assigned to help Veronica lose weight, Noah is everything she expected a young trainer to be—perfectly chiseled, supportive and motivating. Add to that, he’s incredibly sexy. He’s everything she’s ever looked for in a man. What she least expected was for him to fall for her, but he has. There's just one glaring problem: Noah is eight years younger.

Noah Quintanilla has his eye on a boxing title—someday. Down for a few months with an injury, his maintenance-boy pay at 5th Street Gym won't cut it. He’s finally given the opportunity to train. The catch? His trainee is an out-of-shape woman with a free week pass. Taking on the challenge, Noah stumbles into one of the closest friendships he’s ever known, and before he knows it, he’s in love. But Veronica’s not having it—the age difference is too much. Their platonic relationship means having to watch her date other men—something that would make him crazy. Believing he's the man for her, Noah sets out to prove that age is but an illusion, and there's more to him than just a number.

    More About the Author

Writing is my passion. It hasn't always been. I began writing in high school mostly just for fun. I never once took it seriously or had aspirations of becoming a published writer.

I began writing Forever Mine in the 10th grade. I'd forgotten all about it until many MANY years later after moving into a new home, I began to unpack a box that had been sitting in my old houses garage closet. After unpacking old year books and school photos I'd long ago thought were lost forever. I came across an envelope with about seven chapters worth of Forever Mine. I became engrossed in the romance I'd forgotten all about. When I got to the last page I'd written I was so dissapointed because I REALLY wanted to know what happend next.

I decided to finish it. It has been one of the most pleasurable experiences of my life. I felt like I was living their story and enjoyed every minute. When I was finally done I cried. I missed my characters so much I decided there would be more. After much tweaking and editing I wanted the world to read Forever Mine, so I self published. Now I'm hooked on writing.

The experience continues as I work on Always Been Mine the second in the series of The Moreno Brothers. I'm on a roller coaster again and loving every minute. I hope to have it out by early 2011, then I can get started on the the 3rd which the title has yet to come to me. I will, and when it does. I will update my bio. =)

Roni's mother had recently died, Roni had allowed herself to go downhill, depressed with her life she had been comfort eating. Nellie who is Roni's best friend, has had enough. Nellie has got two free passes for the 5th street gym. Unhappy but going along with Nellie, they are assigned a personal trainer, Noah.

I don't want to say anymore as so much happens in this story. What I will say is l loved Noah, he is every woman's dream man. I'd love to know the author's inspiration behind his character, he is perfect. Roni has been through quite a bit, but maybe going to this gym might just be what she needs to get her back on track. The relationship between the H/h builds slowly but beautifully, Roni's major problem is the age difference, she is twenty eight and Noah is twenty. I loved every word of this story. It is so well written, the author really understands the dynamics of a relationship. The story constantly moves forward with no lags or boring bits in the writing.
To sum up one of the best books I have read so far this year. Highly recommend.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Noah 18 Jan. 2013

Another great book by this author. The pace of the book was just right and loved Veronica and Noah. Noah starts off as Veronica's trainer and later roommate but love develops between the pair. However, there's a 8 year age gap! This is a slow building romance not love at first sight type which is sweet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it 2 May 2012

Another new author for me and another great find. Others have mentioned the storyline, so I won't go over it. Noah doesn't come across as a 20 year old (he is actually 19 when we first meet him). He has had a lot of life experiences and he's mature for his age. Roni struggles with the fact she is 28 and feels they are at different places in their lives although Noah convinces her otherwise. The story moves along at a lovely pace. They don't just meet, jump into bed, fall in love and live HEA. It's a long time since I have read a book in this style where the romance builds slowly and it was a refreshing change. I'm going to read Elizabeth Reyes' previous books and this one is the start of a new series so I look forward to the next one. Recommended.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful 19 Sept. 2014

I really enjoyed this story. Fantastic writing by the author and a lovely writing style. I enjoyed the pace of the story. Noah is fantastic. He may be young but he's very mature for his age. Roni (Veronica) struggles with their age difference (8 years). I like stories like this that as you read them, it makes you feel like you are really getting to know and understand the characters and feel them fall in love.

There are other characters in this story and now I have looked up the author I see each of them get their own book (so far Noah, Gio, Hector, Abel and the new one coming out Felix) and having read the reviews it would seem this is a very good series of books.

Recommended and it's not often you read freebies worth 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reyes does it again! 10 May 2013

After reading and absolutely loving the Moreno Brothers of course I was going to check out the 5th street series and it did not dissapoint. I loved Noah and the idea behind it how it was a small gym with mostly boys went too and how the guys who worked there were all boxers. Again like in many books the girl managed to annoy quite abit. The way "Roonie" acted at times insistly made me want to punch her but at the same time I liked her too like when she offered Noah to stay with her until he could fix the garage roof he lived in. I loved the other boys also, Gio, Abel and Hector and I can't wait to read their stories! Honestly Elizabeth Reyes is an awesome writer, I absolutely love her.

I loved Noah! He was a fantastic hero and extremely likeable. I loved the growing friendship that developed between him and Roni and was willing her to give in to him and begin a relationship with him. I liked Noah's friends too and thought they added well to the book. I had to knock 1 star off though for the amount of time Noah and Roni spent as 'roommates' with nothing happening between them when it was obvious how strong the chemistry was. I started to want to hurry reading through some pages to see whether or not they would eventually get together. I still really enjoyed the book though.

Nicely written story, couldn't see how a 20 yer old man would be mature enough to take on a relationship with an older woman, but it worked. Veronica (Roni) has spent the last two years caring for her Mum who was dying from cancer. Her best friend Nellie drags her along to the local gym with a week free entry pass to help take off some of the excess pounds that seem to have crept up on her. Here she meets Noah, a local amateur boxer who wants the opportunity to help with training in the gym. Nice chemistry between them, though sometimes the should she/shouldn't she dragged a bit.
