No time for a siesta – the ups and downs of life on a Spanish farm

Clive and June Wolfe live in a beautiful old Cortijo in the stunning countryside of Villanueva del Trabuco , Southern Spain, with their fifteen horses, two goats, one sheep, three dogs, seven cats, and ten chickens! They run a thriving holiday business – letting out their converted barns for self catering holidays, as well as providing horse riding, mountain biking, guided hikes and other excursions. Clive is a talented builder, working all week for clients and most weekends at home renovating the farm. June is kept busy looking after all the animals, home and family, the holiday business, taking clients riding, and through necessity has become a pretty competent builder herself!
This is the story of their life now, and how it all began………..

About the Author

June Wolfe lives with her husband Clive in a beautiful old farmhouse in the mountains of southern Spain, where they run a successful holiday and horse riding business. She began writing monthly articles for a local magazine as a means to help support her many rescued animals, including 15 horses, 4 dogs, 7 cats, chickens, goats , sheep. After encouragement from keen readers, those stories of her move to Spain in 1999 with her young family and the events that unfolded have become an entertaining book, full of the ups and downs , tears and joy of every day life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A charming story of an adventurous family 30 Nov 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a little treasure. June Wolfe's writing draws you into her world on her little farm in Spain. When you've read it, you feel you know her! If you love animals and people, you will not be able to put this down and will be hoping for more! I've had the joy of staying at Cortijo los Lobos on two occasions, so I have the advantage of being able to picture it all in my mind as it happened. Once you have "fallen in" to "No Time for a Siesta," you will long to visit there and experience the magic for yourself. This book is the second best thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars True grit 3 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I read 'No time for a siesta' in the Kindle edition. For anyone considering living in this lovely part of Spain the book gives a realistic picture of the trials and satisfactions of dealing with the country, the weather and a tiresome bureaucracy. The books title says it all. The sense and sensitivity of Clive and June come across in their relationships with people and animals and they deserve success with their venture.
