4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting unknown little piece, 3 Dec 2010

This is a little gem - good songs, interesting lyrics. Only shame is that the arrangements are so dated, would be nice to hear this in a more "2010" feel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have., 4 Sep 2000

I saw a London fringe production of this musical and it blew me away. I saw it again the next week. It's a fantastic musical - really funny lyrics and really great numbers. The original movie was great, but the musical's a delight. This cast aren't as good as the London cast, which featured the terrific Joanna Riding, but it's still a sensational album. I gave a copy to my best friend and she played it so much that her flatmates begged her to stop. It's addictive and just so much fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Douglas J. Cohen really knows how to "Treat a Lady", 22 Jun 2000

I worked on the Pacific Northwestern premiere of this show and from the first rehearsal I knew it was a winner, no less. Douglass J. Cohen is one of the best new composers out there and deserves to be patted on the back for this great accomplishment of a show. Each song has it's own originality about it...from "What Shall I Sing To You","Safer In My Arms","So Much In Common" and last but not least "Once More From The Top" all rise to be showstoppers and will be known to satisfy over and over again. If you want to start a collection of new up and coming composers to take over for Weber, Sondhiem and Kanber and Ebb, No Way To Treat A Lady is a good start it. Oh, one last thing, be sure to listen after "So Far, So Good-Finale" there is a little bullet montage that is halarious (it comes two minutes after the song is over). Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars good, 24 Nov 1998

I saw this musical in London, where it was getting lukewarm reviews. Really, one cannot trust critics to have any taste. An audience of bright, good-looking people was immediately won over by the sparkling tunes and brilliantly unpredictable lyrics. It was a hoot. Great songs, great lines (and superbly performed over my side of the pond). The CD's no match for seeing the show, but if you HAVE seen the show, how can you live without it? And if you haven't seen the show, buy this and pretend you did. It's fab.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark comedic thriller! Wickedly entertaining... But under appreciated., 31 Jan 2011

One of my all time favorite musicals. The songs are absolutely delightful! The characters are completely off the wall but they all have a little something in them we can all relate to. Many twist and turns. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good murder mystery.
