Book Description

Synopsis
Monroe Lidlington pulls up his wife’s dead body on a fishing trip with two friends. The police, his new wife and his son suspect he murdered her. Breaking his bail conditions, Monroe flies to Vietnam to try to convince his son of his innocence, only to be told, by his son, that he never wants to see him again.
Juliet Lidlington, Monroe’s late wife, worked for The Miax Corporation, a multi-national business with world-wide interests who would sink to any depth to safeguard their squeaky clean reputation.
Greg, Monroe’s son, while travelling in Asia with his girlfriend, stumbles across a newspaper article that accuses Miax of a cover up and raises serious doubts in Greg’s mind about his father’s guilt.
In a desperate plight, across two continents, Greg joins up with Monroe’s new wife, Stevie to prove Monroe had been set up.
But The Miax Corporation have other ideas.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book I have read all year!, 14 Oct 2006

This review is from: No Snowdrops in July (Paperback)
No Snowdrops in July by Nick Wastenage
I came across Nick's thriller via a friend's suggestion. Once I started it I found it hard to drag myself away from the depths of excitement, thrills, danger and fear contained within its pages. I was captivated and craved for justice. The plight of the main character Monroe became my own. I found myself thinking about what was going to happed to him, wanting to sneak home early from social events just so I could read this book!
I cried at some points as the characters were so realistic and their own stories so moving and powerful that it touched me more than any other book has done in a long time. Wonderful and enjoyable. Read this book I would say, for it's the least it deserves. It's original, clever and Nick's instinctual balance of characterisation, plot and description makes for a good read.
I can't wait for his next one.
