Though the group's leader, Lemmy Kilminster, had his roots in the hard-rocking space rock band Hawkwind, Motörhead didn't bother with his old group's progressive tendencies, choosing to amplify the heavy biker rock elements of Hawkwind with the speed of… Read more in Amazon's Motörhead Store

Indeed, they have changed the cover photo, but that's for those listening in braile. The knockout thing about this 'bonus re-issue' is it's everything The Who's 'Live At Leeds' re-issue/expanded CD wasn't. Live albums, especially benchmark live albums like 'NSTH' and 'Live At Leeds' need to be re-issued in their orginal form AND THEN have the bonus cuts afterwards or on a 2nd CD. 'Live At Leeds' was simply re-issued as the original gig was played. Whilst this was all fine and dandy, WE WERE USED TO THE ORIGINAL, AND IT WAS MOST FAMOUS AS IT WAS, so the old saying of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" was obviously in Sanctaury's mind when they put this together, because you have THE ORGINAL TRACKS AS WAS, plus the bonus cuts / out-takes after THE BIT THAT'S MOST FAMOUS. And even though the quality twitters a bit on some of the extras, THE FANS LOVE IT. Not so with 'Live At Leeds,' the original was best and always will be, but here they got it right, because we have 'the classic album' and some - just the jobby!

Classic Motörhead 15 Jun 2010

This is a great expanded version of the Motörhead album 'No Sleep Til Hammersmith', recorded in 1981 at Leeds on March 28th (my birthday) and at Newcastle on 29th & 30th March featuring the 'classic' line-up of Lemmy, 'Philthy' Phil and 'Fast' Eddie. A must for all Metal-heads, this album encapsulates the live appeal of the band. The new group photographs on the front cover of the fabulous bomber lighting gantry from Port Vale in 1981 and on the back cover from Coventry in 1980 taken by top rock photographer Alan Perry enhance this definitive album.
