I don't usually like photo books. Being tight by nature (well, I am a Yorkshireman) I'm not keen on forking out my hard earned cash on a book that can be finished in a quarter of a hour, probably never to be looked at again.
That doesn't apply to this book though, because I whilst I did read it in little over ten minutes, they were ten extremely enjoyable minutes.
The book is made up of photos of some of the most wild & wonderful pictures of tattoo's that grace various parts of peoples anatomies. Some are highly imaginative, some are extremely funny and some are beautiful works of art but most are either downright rude or totally crazy. Nearly every page I found myself wondering why people would deface their bodies in such a way; I mean, who in their right minds would chose to have a tattoo of Peewee Herman or Chuck Norris on their torso?
All in all it is an excellent book. The only downside are the captions that accompany each photo. These are meant to be funny but the humour in most come across as being rather lame. I couldn't help feeling that the book would have been better without these captions, as they aren't really needed.
One thing's for sure - no matter how much I loved this book, I won't be rushing out to be get a tattoo.
