This is one of my very favorite British sitcom. I like this type of comedy: no foul language, family-based, simple, yet entertaining. It was made back in the early 1980's when family values mattered to all of us. There was no internet, no cell phones, no satellite dishes with thousands of useless TV channels. the humor is derived from the very nature of the average family around the world, and the English family in particular. I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the series (only series 1 & 2 are available at the date of this review). William Gaunt and Patricia Garwood play the dedicated traditional decent parents who spent the past 24 years raising their four kids, on the hope that each of them will find their careers and their own accommodations. But things, ironically, always go the wrong way, and for one reason or another, the kids will often have to go back to stay home with their parents until they find alternative accommodation. I will not mention more details. Hopefully the rest of the series will become available on dvd soon ( I got tired of the dominance of the cliched worn-out commercial American sitcoms )
