God is drawing thousands of spiritually curious a??imperfect peoplea?? to become his churcha??but how are we doing at welcoming them? No Perfect People Allowed shows you how to deconstruct the five main barriers standing between emerging generations and your church by creating the right culture. From inspiring stories of real people once far from God, to practical ideas that can be applied by any local church, this book offers a refreshing vision of the potential and power of the Body of Christ to transform lives today. a??We now are living in a post-Christian Americaa??and that means we must be rethinking ministry through a missionary mindset. What makes this book both unique and extremely helpful is that it is filled with real-life stories of post-Christian people becoming followers of Jesusa??not just statistics or data about them.a?? Dan Kimball, Author, The Emerging Church "...John's 'get it' factor with people, lost or found, is something to behold!

This is the story of Gateway Community Church in Austin, Texas. It is an outstanding book, unique, encouraging and challenging. It is filled with inspiring real-life stories of post-Christian people becoming followers of Jesus in the 21st century. It is filled with practical and proven ideas that can be applied to any church anywhere to make the teachings of Christ attractive and relevant to spiritually hungry people in and outside of church. It is a refreshing vision of the potential and power of the church to transform lives and society. I cannot recommend it too highly to church leaders of all Christian denominations.

This book whilst written as a challenge to the existing culture of much of the Christian church of America,is equally relevent for the UK.It confront christians with a challenge to change their culture to one of inclusiveness in order to be equipped to engage with a lost generation of young people aged between 18 - 40yrs,damaged by the consequences of life styles lived with the maxim, 'if it feels good do it'. The message is 'Come as you are'.. and leave the rest to the Spirit of God.
I commend it to all.. but its not easy reading!

A wonderful and very inspiring book. Chapter 7 (about world religion) and chapter 8 (about homosexuality) alone are worth the money. A churhc who really want to connect with the culture will find many insights that will be of help.
