Dionne shines! 17 May 2010
Format:Audio CD
This 1980 release still sounds great today! Basically it's a great singer singing great material without trying to copy whatever trend was "in" at the time of recording. The 10 tracks from the original release are all excellently produced by Steve Buckingham; Dionne's voice has never sounded better. Standout tracks include "No Night So Long", "Easy Love" and the fantastic Isaac Hayes composition "We Never Said Goodbye". Dionne even covers Michael Jackson's "It's The Falling In Love" from the "Off The Wall" album to great effect. Three bonus tracks include "Dedicate This Heart" from the "Hot Live and Otherwise" album, plus power ballad "This Time Is Ours" and a wonderful gentle version of Roberta Flack's "Only Heaven Can Wait". It's great to have this album available again. It comes with informative booklet and liner notes.

Dionne Warwick at her best. After a string of disappointing albums in the 1970s Dionne Warwick comes up with her second excellent offering with Arista under the careful patronage of company CEO Clive Davis. A perfect pop/soul concept album with just the right mix of emotional love songs and soft easy listening ballads which perfectly match Miss Warwick's voice. A very underrated album which still sounds as fresh today as when it was first released back in the early 1980s.

Compared to many of Dionne's albums, this is very average.
It is one of those that will be played only once or twice and then likely to be a dust collector!
