3.0 out of 5 stars Too American for young children. 6 Aug. 2007
This book has some excellent poems in - especially ones revolving around excuses for homework being late.
The biggest and most significant downfall with this book is that the language is American - recess, cootie-head, pacifier - and so the humour of the poem is lost on children because of explaining what the different words mean.
I bought this book because I can remember a poem from school
'No more homework, no more tests, no more sitting behind those desks' - I thought this poem would appear in this book and sadly it does not.
Overall an ok book but there are much better poetry books out there!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very funny! 23 Jun. 1998
By A Customer - Published on
Finally, a book my kids can't put down. My 8 and 10 year old love these funny poems. They read them over and over again and like to share their favorites with their friends. They've even been inspired to write some of their own poetry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kid Appeal 30 Jan. 2001
By A Customer - Published on
As a teacher I am constantly trying to find ways to engage my students in writing. My students can't get enough of Mr. Lansky's work. It has inspired children to write who have extreme difficulty doing so! It's a must have in a classroom and a great book to have in the home!!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Giggles About School 15 July 2010

This is another cute book that contains lots of giggles about school. My favorite poem is Norman Norton's Nostrils. I used this poem to introduce a health/science unit on body parts. Students particiapte in a fluency exercise. the book contains lots of gross and giggly poems that will motivate primary age students.

This is an awesome book of Poetry for children!!!! I, as and adult love to read it too. There's a lot of good laughs for you and your children. It's not a huge book, so it's not overwhleming for a child and inexpensive as well. Worth the buy, worth the laugh!
