Nissin Di866 Mark II Flash: Get slick, professional results by coupling your Canon, Nikon or Sony camera with this advanced 2nd generation flagship flashgun
Mastering light is the quickest way to gaining more professional results from your digital camera. A shortcut to achieving this is to add an accessory flashgun, making it a fantastic investment. The Nissin Di866 Mark II offers fits for Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras and Guide Number (ISO100): 60m, 198ft. (105mm), 40m, 132ft. (35mm).
Comprehensive range of flash functions
Supporting Canon E-TTL/E-TTL II, Nikon i-TTL/i-TTL-BL and Sony ADI/P-TTL, the light from the flash is automatically controlled by your camera, with the added advantage that the flash exposure value can be adjusted to compensate. In Manual mode, flash power can be adjusted manually through 22 stops, from full power to 1/128 power in 1/3 stops. Helpfully the appropriate distance to the subject is shown in the display in accordance with the aperture value set on the camera.
In Av priority mode the flash light can be automatically controlled by the flash's integral photo sensor instead of via TTL metering. The f-stop can be set from f/1.4 to f/16, and the distance at the f-stop set on the flash and camera is shown in the display.
In Multi-flash mode the power ratio can be set from 1/8 to 1/128.
Your best solution for off-camera flash
The Nissin Di866 Mark II supports the Canon/Nikon/Sony wireless TTL system. It can also be jointly used with Canon, Nikon and Sony own brand flash as either a Master or Remote (Slave flash). Additionally the Di866 Mark II supports digital (pre-flash system) and analogue (film camera flash and/or studio flash) in both Manual and Av priority mode(s). A multi flash option allows the flash to be repeated to achieve multi exposures in a single frame. The power ratio can be set from 1/8 to 1/128.
Colour auto rotate display
The Nissin Di866 Mark II flash is as easy to use as it is effective. The colour display will automatically rotate to the angle you're using the camera at, whilst the straightforward interface displaying six colourful mode/menu icons makes for simple operation. These icons are for Full Auto Mode, TTL Mode, Manual Setting Mode, Multi Flash Mode, Wireless TTL Flash Mode and Custom Setting Mode.
Super quiet operation
Operating noise has been significantly reduced on the Nissin Di866 Mark II thanks to a new transmission motor. This has allowed a volume level of 70dB or less to be achieved.
High sensitivity wireless sensors
The Nissin Di866 Mark II's high performance wireless sensors cover a distance of 25 metres (the direct remote sensing range). Thanks to such high sensitivity sensors, a multi lamp set up can be easily utilised, and across various locations.
Durable hot shoe mount
A high quality metal hot shoe mount ensures that the Nissin Di866 Mark II is easy to install on the camera of your choice. It also reduces the chances of any wear and tear and damage to the unit ongoing.
The Nissin Di866 Mark II provides an additional small flash (GN12) beneath the main flash. This small flash provides a fill-in light whilst bouncing the main flash. If, when shooting a portrait, bouncing the main flash introduces a shadow under your subject's chin, this fill-in flash will eradicate the issue. The power ratio of the sub flash can be set from 1/1 to 1/128.
The Auto Zoom of the Nissin Di866 Mark II covers a 24-105mm focal range – matching that of any standard zoom lens. Its light-diffusing panel covers a wide 18mm (in 35mm format).
Auto zoom and My TTL
Nissin has accurately calibrated the TTL exposure level for automatic usage. However, for those who wish to set their own preferred levels, this can be adjusted by +/- 3EV in 1/3 incremental steps.
Quick loading battery magazine
The Nissin Di866 Mark II features the same battery magazine system as the original Di866 and the Di466 models, with the ability to conveniently slot in all four AA batteries facing the same direction. This enables batteries to be accurately inserted by photographers even in low light, where visibility is unclear. Spare magazines can also be purchased.
External Service Box
The Nissin Di866 Mark II has an X-terminal socket for flash synchronisation and supports the Nissin Power Pack PS 300. Also provided on the Di866 Mark II is a USB port/socket for upgrading to the latest firmware.
Updatable via Firmware
To avoid the possibility of your flash not working when you introduce a new camera to your set up, Nissin offers a firmware upgrade service for its Di866 Mark II flashgun, providing a service terminal to upload the latest software*. A charge for the firmware update service will apply, according to area. *The new camera has to be the same make as your previous camera.
Rear curtain sync and high speed shutter
Utilising rear curtain sync, the flash fires just before the rear curtain closes. This can be utilised to stunning effect. For example if using this function at slow shutter speed, a moving subject will appear with trails of light enhancing the impression of movement. Otherwise high-speed sync is recommended for daylight flash photography.
Tilt and swivel head
Reflector and light diffusing panel
Tilting head and fill-in reflector and light diffusing panel included
The Nissin Di866 Mark II flash head tilts up to 90° and rotates horizontally 90° to the right and 180° to the left. The fill-in reflector and light diffusing panel are installed as standard, adding up to a comprehensive flash system in the palm of your hand.
The flashgun is supplied with a case and flash stand for using the flashgun off the camera.
