Format: Audio CD
The excellent Cannonball Adderley sextet was recorded in front of an appreciative audience at Sankei Hall, Tokyo on July 14-15, 1963. Apart from Cannonball on alto sax the sextet included the versatile Yusef Lateef(tenor sax, flute, oboe); Nat Adderley(cornet); Joe Zawinul(piano); Sam Jones(bass) & Louis Hayes(drums).
The seven memorable tracks are by Cannonball Adderley('Nippon Soul'); Yusef Lateef('The Weaver' & 'Brother John'); Nat Adderley('Work Song' & 'Tengo Tango'); Duke Ellington('Come Sunday') & Cole Porter('Easy to Love').
All in all, this hard-swinging sextet is captured at the peak of its powers and the music still sounds fresh and exciting 50 years later.

Love the title. Very good live sound from a classic line up with Nat and Cannonball in on it. Sounds great.
